Hello, I just wanted to discuss the fact that elites are no longer in Halo 4’s multiplayer. I am well aware that elites are in the campaign. 343 has told us that they are removing them because they want to focus on the training of Spartan 4’s. This is fine by me. But, removing elites from the entire game other than campaign and possibly Spartan Ops is a huge mistake. A large sum of people rely on elites for things like machinimas. I myself have been planning an excelent machinima series. I decided to wait until Halo 4 came out to start it, however. The news of 343 removing elites was devastating to me and my hard-working team. I want everyone to post things such as this and let 343 know how we, as a community, feel. Go ahead and keep elites out of competitive multiplayer,but, do not remove them from custom games and forge. Go ahead and comment with your thoughts.
If there was some way to keep them in for custom games that would be pretty neat. I don’t make machinimas but this would be nice for those that do.
If they don’t put them in I won’t be upset though.
I want 343 to bring elites back and make them playable. There is a huge community of elite players, myself included. I’m sure a lot of people are upset just like me because 343 has made this decision. I see that not everyone wants them back because they think it makes the game unfair. Even though I don’t think being an elite gives anyone any real advantage, I think 343 could satisfy everyone by putting them is certain playlists. i don’t want it to be as restricted as reach but maybe just not put them in ranked matchmaking but in social like halo 3 had. There is no reason I see why 343 shouldn’t make elites playable. They are a very capable studio. I think they just need to realize how many people want them back. So 343, if you’re reading this, please see how many of us loyal fans want elites playable. You said you were listening, now it’s time to prove it!
I remember the days of playing Halo PC online where nobody complained about not being able to play as an Elite. Sure, it was nice to be an Elite in Halo 2/3 whenever we wanted and be one in select gametypes for Reach, but does it really make a difference? Yeah, maybe some machinima relied on Elites in some cases, but people will just have to deal with having to keep using Halo 3 or Reach if they want to include Elites in their films.

How do you know there just removed from competative? gameinformer said “competative multiplayer will focus on the spartan IVs. Elites will not be playable.” I can see where you got that but any more solid evidence?

While I think elites should not be in multiplayer matchmaking, they should make an appearance in custom games and forge.

It’s very sad that Elites aren’t playable. I’m a Spartan on Reach but there are many people loves Elites… And those gametype like Invasion, with the Elite vs Spartan, are funny. I hope 343i will set the Elites playble at least in custom games.
Elites should definitley be playable for everything accept the Multiplayer if that’s how they want it to be. There’s no reason why it’d be unplayable for Custom Games, Forge etc. UNLESS… There is another type of race that you can play that isn’t Shangelli…

I hope so too it’s the only thing we haven’t hard of if they are in it just MP. If they are in Custom Games then I’m happy.
I’m not too sad that there’s no elites in multiplayer, but that means there probably wont be any new arby ‘n’ the chief episodes anytime soon

I dont care if they are or not in multiplayer but they need to be there for custom games.
Custom games will improve with them back. Also infection (normal) back. And a UNSC flying vechole.
