as you all know, the gameinformer issue mentioned that “elites are not playable in competitive matchmaking”…but when i was checking my reach stats there’s “Competitive, Invasion, Customs …” sections…
so i was thinking, maybe elites won’t be playable in COMPETITIVE playlists (all normal playlists from team slayer to swat etc…), but playable in invasion/customs…
it doesn’t make sense that 343 is removing elites from multiplayer completely…
post your thoughts!

You make a good point man.
If we got ranked/social playlists and Elites secluded to social playlists, I think that would make a lot of different groups happy. Competitive players would be happy because they get their ranks and Elite’s hitboxes don’t cause problems in matches that matter to them and casual players get playlists to have fun in and Elites to play with as well.

I believe it was a quote from frank o’connor that made it into the article. This could be very true, as invasion maps could be the spartan IV training with elites that are still with humans (arbiter and all of those elites who made peace with the humans) although with spartan ops coming who knows if there’s a need for something like that
If 343 does cut elites entirely it could be viewed as an attempt to wipe the slate. It would be foolish to entirely regress to the days of CE, since most fans would be looking for series progression. If thier aim is for a game that feels like CE then this would be a nail in a coffin.
