Elites in Future Halo Games

AH, WOBABAB!- “Ah, greetings everyone!”

I created this thread for anyone who wants to pitch their voice in about the elites (sangheili) being in future halo projects, game ideas that you want to share, or just plainly socialize about them in general, go ahead and post your thoughts. Forum rules apply here.

Now since I started this thread I’ll start the discussion. First, if you are new to the halo universe, or just need to remember what an Elite is, here it is.

Now, some of you have been craving for some adventure in the Halo Universe playing as an Elite, and had been already fulfilled. For those of us who’ve played Halo 2, we played the role of a special ranking elite known as the Arbiter, and also that we were also capable of as an Elite for the first time in Halo 2’s multiplayer, and returning again in Halo 3’s multiplayer and campaign, again as the Arbiter along with two other Elite characters. Finally, we happily see their awesome (and menacing) return in Halo: Reach. Unfortunately, the news of the Elites not returning again for 343i’s Halo 4 have either down or had given you grief.

Thank you, and enjoy. Also if you are new into the Forum, welcome to Waypoint! feel free to ask questions to any of the community members. They are here to help you.

Blarg!

Well an idea that has been bouncing around for a bit now among the Sangheili is a halo 3 ODSTish game or DLC that takes place where you (the player) are a Sangheili Zealot in as (Zealot) Squad. The potential of this is huge, and it could also be a sort of ‘joint’ game where you can choose from two campaigns, one as a Zealot and one as a Spartan 4 where they sort of mirror eachother and through out it you see a sort of action-reaction effect going on between the two.

I also thing that for multiplayer of this game and the future halo games there is a distinction made between the male and female Sangheili, both in models and in voices because keep in mind that while female Sangheili weren’t traditionally in the military there were no laws against it.

I remember watching Halo:Legends with the water paint about the Arbiter. I do not believe that the female elite was confirmed or not. I did earlier state in another post that a covenant firefight addition would be a wonderful twist for celebrating another halo anniversary, an entire Elite cast (agreeing with what you said) game, or an Arbiter game. I also like to add: any armor details that you want to see return or brand new for the Elites to wear?

I can see something like “Elite Ops” being in Halo 5.

Wort wort wort, I think we may see Arbiters group show up to help Chief at some point in the future but we will have to see.

I think it would look pretty hiliarious if Halo 5 features UNSC allied Elites and Jul’s Elites.

If Halo 5 has Spartan ops that would be even better if you could choose to play as an Elite to fight against Jul’s Elites.

Seriously, Jul needs to die whether by Sanheili or human hands, he needs to die.

I believe 343i has been pushing Sangheili out of the picture since the Kilo-Five Trilogy in order to allow humanity the spotlight against Forerunners and the Flood. However I believe if there is still enough interest and relevance to the Sangheili expressed by the fanbase there is a possibility of re-inclusion in Halo 5; or I’m just being optimistic. Spartan Ops Episode 3 has given some resonable hope that there may be a future for them, however dim.

I am certain 343i’s “influence” is also what caused Bungie to start weaning the community away from Elite gameplay in Multiplayer in Reach, which would explain why they were made into a “Gimmick” a game ago. They wanted the Elite community to get used to playing as Spartans most of the time, so that when Elites were completely removed from the multiplayer experience, it wouldn’t be as big a deal as if they just cut them out cold turkey.

Agreed. A friend in need is a friend indeed; the Master Chief at some in time will need assistance from the Arbiter and his Elites soon. However, my criticism is having two different types of elites can be confusing, unless Thel’s troops will look more ornamental whereas Jul’s warriors could be more grittier and aggressive looking. Yet although I have not played Halo 4 yet,I actually know that Jul is the leader of the Elites for the ‘Storm Covenant’, and that if the Arbiter or any of the Elites kill Jul, then it’ll feel cliched from Halo 3, when the Arbiter assassinated the Prophet of Truth, in my opinion.

I honestly believe the Arbiter will be killed off in the final Kilo-5 Novel.

> I honestly believe the Arbiter will be killed off in the final Kilo-5 Novel.

I’ve always said they would never kill off Thel in a book and that he would need a final game appearance but the way things are going, it wouldn’t surprise me.

I hope elites show up again and aren’t all enemies. I, like many, hope for an alliance with them so that we can play as them in MP again.

The Sangheili community shall not bow to this new human supremacist direction that 343 may be taking…

But one thing I would like to point out is that the Sangheili combat harnesses in halo 3 were actually reissued suits that the Sangheili used before they joined the covenant, so my main question is why do the Storm covenant look so crappy when their armour was on par with the spartan suits when they were made 5 thousand years ago?

However on the topic of the Sangheili language I think we should request a book with naming conventions (common names), the written language (Including this.) and so on.
And after they publish it they could continue to use this in games and have a concise language for them in games to come so they can end up having a little more depth then Blarg and Wort, and so on.

anything that returns the Elites to prominence would be welcome…
too bad they don’t have the guts to do a dual campaign again with the elites running their operations simultaneously with the humans…

Hell with all this insurrectionist talk it would make sense to have some insurrectionists join the UNSC, the Spartan program then defect to fight the government…In that sense you can play as elites versus “Bad” Spartans. (either that or i hate the dudebro spartans so much that I plan their demise any chance i get).

I was also somewhat upset at the lack of Brutes, the more enemies in the mix the better.

Well, some of the Brutes did actually join for the Sangheili’s sake, but I am actually wondering if the Drones will return (I doubt it). I do not believe that either Bungie or 343i have given an explanation why, although they did appear in two/ three levels from Halo:Reach. Also, what I would like to see is the Sangheili acquiring more species to join their Covenant to counter the UNSC and the Arbiter’s Elites, and perhaps have revenge on them ( the universe is rich with sentient lifeforms).

However, wouldn’t that stray off from the actual Halo experience and also, would it feel like it’s repeating from the original trilogy? 343i may possibly, possibly have better ideas than I do that will become dual campaign, or possibly will include the Elites in future games. Sadly, however, in their history, the majority of the community disliked the dual campaign (along with the cliffhanger) from Halo 2, because it took away the drive as being the Master Chief from them (which I understand too since I like the MC).

What they should do is create another game, which will be under the Sangheili’s/ an Arbiter’s perspective, offer a “Covenant Firefight”, add separate matchmaking for them (just like Reach) or fill them with with the Spartans together (Halo 3). But these are only ideas. Some basic solutions. I am open to cons against these ideas.

realistically the safest option would be just to add an elite ops section. It wouldn’t interfere with the main narrative and give the elite fanbase their fill as well.

Being realistic, yes I agree, but it doesn’t hurt to share former thoughts or ideas as well. Perhaps any new weapon ideas exclusively for the Elites? In ODST, they were equipped with exclusive weaponry. If Bungie did so, then 343i can as well (not being too skeptical here). what weapons sounds fitting for Zealots (well energy swords are a no brainer but what about heat seeking or a Forunner-esque weapon)? They also have high energy shields as described in Reach.

Truth is, everyone inside the Sangheili community and a few outside of it want the Sangheili back. The codes for Invasion and Sangheili are on the disk, they just need to make a few changes and a click of a button.

I recalled that you said something that Elites were on the disk as well as Invasion, yes?

Woah Woah hold on, there is an MP Elite Code on the disk?. could that have ben a hint that Elites where ment to be playable?
