I know elites aren’t in halo 4’s multiplayer, but 343 never mentions if they’re still playable in halo 4’s Custom Games & Forge. So I have two questions I’d like to ask.
1.) Will elites at least be playable in forge and custom games?
2.) Also, Will Invasion be returning or will it be replaced w/something similar?
No (I have a feeling we would have seen them in gameplay vids so far, didn’t we see them in the Reach beta? I don’t remember)

They were in halo reach’s beta. So soon, maybe we’ll see them in some halo 4 gameplay.

I really doubt it. I’m pretty sure they shot it down a while ago. It’s why that 200+ page-long thread asking for it went down.

So far the devs have said they won’t be in halo 4 multiplayer at all (And they even got a little hostile about it if I recall correctly) but if you want to see them in halo 5 or even maybe halo 4 DLC, then I suggest you check out this thread.
They will not be in custom games. 343’s Halo story revolves around Chief and Spartans. All the multiplayer (and custom) action takes place on the UNSC Infinity. So there is no need, nor room for the Elites. Though of course we’ll have interactions with them, other Covenant and of course Forerunner AIs in both Campaign and Spartan Ops.
Playing as Elites in-game though is dead. Honestly, I’m quite happy with that. I know others will miss playing the split-jaws. Of course you can still play as them in Halo 3/Reach but I suppose that won’t be good enough for some.

And @HaloFanForLife1 There is room for Elites considering there were atleast dozens of them serving as liasons to the UNSC it would make perfect sense to include them. And they were playable in all halo games except halo combat evolved (And even then you could play as them with mods).
If the UNSC Infinity has such a powerful holodeck, I don’t see why it can’t bring Covenant into Matchmaking or at least custom games. That would keep it canonical too…
Speaking from a canonical perspective, there are no Elite liaisons on-board the UNSC Infinity, so that’s out. And as for the holodeck’s power, why would it be able to produce playable Covenant? Maybe if it was used for training missions and it would create a representation, but not as a playable avatar. You could argue a Spartan could assume the form of an Elite virtually…but a human isn’t an Elite and would not be an adequate substituent to train as one.
War Games is training for Spartan-IVs, so no Elites. Period.

Think about it, OP. Why would 343 go through the trouble of designing a playable Elite model only to make it exclusive to Forge and Custom Games? That would probably piss even more people off than just ditching them altogether like they’re doing now.

I wouldn’t listen to these people that are saying no for Elites in Halo 4 for Custom or Forge games. So far we haven’t heard nothing or seen video on confirming this lately. All we can do is wait until the game comes out and see for ourselves. We have 2 months left. Its a wait and see for the games to be released. If Elites do return only for Custom and Forge games and the Spartan lovers were dead wrong from the beginning by listening to some person saying Elites will not be in Halo 4 period, then we Elites will laugh at their face and say ‘We told you so’. The ‘scratch that itch’ motto is still out there for Elites in Halo 4. I think 343 is doing something to the Elites to be in the game and wants to surprise us.

No, Elites are gone from multiplayer completely.
In a way, yes. 343i has stated that there will be something to “Scratch the itch” for Invasion fans.

They all understand what they’re not in, and are offering solutions for them to make sense in the canon side of multiplayer.
But I’m saying straight up to Alei, what part does he not understand about it being confirmed on multiple occasions, that Elites are NOT in Multiplayer, it was confirmed in the Gameinformer back when Halo 4 details first slipped out and it has been said by Josh Holmes that your career focuses on your Spartan IV, not an Elite.
Let’s just understand this also - Multiplayer is both Custom Games & Forge.
