Elites in CTF!

Sorry if this is old news, but I saw this video on Youtube of some guys playing CTF on prisoner and noticed on that on the blue team is made up of Spartans except that one player WAS AN ELITE! Is it possible that you can play as an Elite if you wanted to in the TU?

You decide, look I don’t know how to post links so unless you can teach or send me a link on how to learn, heres the name of the video:(NEW!) Halo prisoner CTF-Halofest 2011 look around 1:16 for the Elite. It should be the first one.

Note: this is not my video, and the red team was made entirely of Spartans.

That would be awesome, I have the officer elite and I would love to play with him, and use him in matchmaking without having to hop Elite Slayer was voted or playing invasion.

Go back to halo 3 and allow elites to be playable for players.

You have always been able to select your “preferred race” in Reach, it’s just the gametypes that dictate weither you are allowed to play as one though.

Yeah, I already knew that, and now that I think about it that video could have been a custom game.

Spot on, Watson, spot on.

I would have to assume that in the video they were playing a Custom Game. Default Custom Gametypes have always allowed the player to be their preferred player race. Matchmaking gametypes on the other hand force players to be Spartan most of the time. The reason behind this is that the elites in Reach operate differently than their spartan counterparts; their shield strength, health, hitboxes, melee damage, and jump height are all different, and mostly advantageous in comparison. If they made them operate the same as the spartans in the new TU then I don’t think there would be any issue, but unfortunately I highly doubt that will be happening.

Could it possibly be Spartans vs Elites again like when the beta came out?

I hope not,Reach isn’t Halo 3,Elites and Spartans are different.
