Grunts vs 343i Grunt
The grunts just look pathetic atm, Their armor (of lack of) just doesn’t look like and advanced armor from the distance future and galaxy, it looks like it made out of a very cheap metal, as well as it lost it shape from other halo games it just simply doesn’t look like a grunt anymore.
-On the other hand this grunt looks like a threat, it still looks like a grunt but it has that extra menace to it which make it look so much better that the 343i’s grunt. The armor looks like will be tough to break down and from the future and a completely different alien race rather than looking like a lizard.
Elites vs 343i Elites
The Elites just look too fleshy to me, their armor is supposed to be comparible to the spartans but from the screenshot it looks weaker than a brutes armor. Make the armor look stronger rather than looking like a scaly lizard with a bit of metal plating. Also their shape and of the elite doesn’t look right they need to be big and threating with streamlined waist and huge torso, have have completely lost their shape.
-These elites look far more better, they are more armored up and look like they can take a few bullets and have shield system.
Anyway I could go on, but heres my view on it just beef the enemmy up. Maybe 343i is trying to make the convanent look weaker to make the “new enenmy” a whole lot more threating.

We dont even know why the covenant are on Requiem. Let’s find that out before we complain about the armor. I’m sure it will be explained.

Remember they have not done all the finishing touches to the armor so they don’t necessarily look like that.

- I would LOVE to see you try to make a 3d, fully detailed model of a grunt.
That elite looks like it has anorexia, specially in its mid-section.
You know these probably aren’t properly armoured Covenant soldiers, right? The lack of armour and added sense of “Been in the -Yoink-” is probably to get over their lack of resources or something like that.
I enjoy the “less then perfectly equipped look” it makes sense given the context
also last I checked the elites are not as reliant on their armor as Spartans…least for anything that is not protection and cloaking

I agree on the armor part, but I wouldn’t have used Halo Wars’s models as the ideal alternative. I still love Halo 1’s the best for some reason.

For Grunts, NO. Those Grunts you suggested look ok but 343i’s is still better. In fact they look more treathening than before.
Elites: nononononono. The ones you proposed are fine, but 343i’s is still better. They look terrifying.

damn, those 343i grunts definitely do pale in comparison to the other ones. the elites are fine though. the grunts could use some polish.
Okay, you do realize that these a rogue Grunts/Elites, right? The Covenant disbanded. The Prophets took the engineers, so most Elites are without their high-tech military gear.
They’re stragglers, they don’t have a lot of gear, and they look like it. What’s wrong with that?
