My friend gun knight on Xbox told me that there was a ‘mini’ E3 2015 earlier this month and he went to it. He said that Elites have been confirmed to be playable in Halo 5’s multiplayer. He also got to see the new Infection mode. Like and comment. SHOUT OUT TO GUN KNIGHT!
Got any more details other than word of mouth? Elites would make a ton of people happy, but need a bit more info other than an xbox friend 
You’ll forgive me if I desire better confirmation than from a guy named Gun Knight that I don’t know.
Unfortunately, I’ll have to call this as fake. If there was truly a conference earlier this month where Elites were shown in Halo 5’s multiplayer, I’m sure we would have heard a lot more about it by now. I don’t think a random guy on Xbox Live is really the most reliable source.
Though I don’t believe a word of this, I do remember hearing about EA doing something similar with Battlefront sometime in the past couple of weeks. There was even a picture posted on twitter showing “Star Wars Battlefront” on a screen, which was posted who has some some significance with EA/DICE.
I think we need higher standards for what constitutes “confirmed”.

Totally said four player co-op mode will be Chief, Locke, Arby, and Noble 6, and the story of how he escaped Reach is going to play a major role in the game. Also, Cortana is going to be cloned as a human somehow and marry the Chief. Totally. Like, 100% legit.
Sarcasm aside, nothing is confirmed until 343 posts it themselves. What your friends on Xbox say, even if they claim their uncle is major executive at Microsoft, doesn’t mean crap and, 99 times out of a 100, will be complete BS.

Worst part of that is Cortana marrying Chief. They always had a special relationship but never do I want to see that.

Elites should be come in the middle of the campaign with agent Locke hunting down the master chief and at the beginning you go against brutes and prometheans?
