Why isn’t this an option? Any specific reason?
I think it would be cool if Elites could be playable, and customizable armor wise I mean.

Because War Games (multiplayer) is training for Spartan-IV (you). Ergo, no Elites.
Because multiplayer is now tied into the fiction now. So it would no longer be canon for there to be elites. All multiplayer action happens on the hallow deck of the Infinity. Spartan on spartan. It’s a training program.

Yeah that’s pretty dumb. I want my Elites! Spartans are wussies compared to them!

I actually perfer playing as a spartan.
Im indifferent on this matter. I always preferred Spartans.

If I remember correctly you were able to play as an Elite in Halo 2 just couldn’t customize the armor. In Halo 3 If I’m correct Elites were playable just limited with armor customization. Last, But not least in Reach correct me if I’m wrong I believe Invasion and Elite slayer in Matchmaking gametype were the only ways you played as an Elite.

That’s all true…but this is the reason 343i gave for Halo 4. Multiplayer is a training session for Spartan-IVs.
Sorry that was uncalled for …

Meaning multiplayer wasn’t canon with the story until Halo 4. Thus no elites in Halo 4 multiplayer.

You forgot that you can play Elites in Elite Slayer as well, not just in Invasion.
Though it was for a short while and the option is certainly in the game, FireFight versus let’s you play as Elites too. Of course, Bungie messed up in their grab bag playlists with awful settings that favored the Spartans.
OT: The MP ties into the fiction now. It wouldn’t make sense to have Elites when 343 wants us to focus on being Spartan IVs. No one complained in Halo CE, where you could only play as Spartans.

I’m sorry I don’t think I quite understand.
What deception cobra said. I am happy it is this way. Spartans only is way better

I actually remembered at the last minute and edited my post to add Elite Slayer in.
