Well we have seen those shields in a old Halo CE trailer do you think it could make a good comeback or would the elites be to op in campaign ? what do you think ?
If they come back, I think Generals should use them.
I don’t understand what you’re talking about. Something similar to the Jackal shield but for Elites?

Or maybe have like a new elite class for defence or something.

Here kinda low res Image safe link.

It could be possible, as it already exists in Halo canon. Rtas 'Vadum, the elite with the missing jaw from Halo 2/3, uses one in the Halo graphic novel. However I can see this as getting kinda annoying after a while.

this.
It’s already a decent struggle to kill both elites and Jackals
if you combine them into one, it won’t be fun
what counters the jackal (shooting at the gaps) will be voided by the elite’s base shields.
and what counters the elite (bulletfire stripping shields, single headshot) will be countered by the Inpenetrable Plasma Shield.
they won’t be fun to fight

It wouldn’t be that much more annoying than a Jackal’s shield or a Knight/Crawler being given a hardlight shield from a Watcher, would it now?
It’d certainly make fighting Elite swordsmen far more challenging.

Quite frankly it needs to be. I’ve not had any difficulty with swordsman elites since the noob-combo was discovered to be honest. Giving Sanghieli Generals Plasma shields would be a great challenge to add.

This guy’s got it. You don’t even need to use the noob-combo to take out Zealot or General swordsman, which are supposed to be tough. Something that requires players to actually think about how to approach various types of enemies is always good. Picking up a BR/Sniper and shooting Swordsman while backing up is a really easy tactic that got boring after Halo CE.

It would be interesting if the Elite uses it strategically, such as using it only against incoming sticky grenades, needles, or EMP shots, rather than every chance it gets(i.e. Getting shot by a pistol or assault rifle). Also, like Cobra said, I’d only like to see it used by high-ranking elites like zealots or generals.
It’s called a Sangheili Point Defense Gauntlet, it is similar to that of the Kig-Yar Point Defense Gauntlet, except that its appearance is different. Jackal Shields are rounded with a convex shape while the Elite Shields are more flat and angular.
I’d rather see them make use of the Hard light shield AA.
But I’d like the Hard light shield to have it’s damage properties changed to be a lot more similar to the Jackal shield.
Because isn’t that what the Hard light shield was supposed to be? The answer to players wanting to use the Jackal shield. I actually made a thread discussing these possible changes a while back.
Plus if it’s an AA the Elite wont have it activated 100% of the time, so getting head shots will still be viable. There’s also the fact that if the Elite point defense gauntlet is used then we probably wont get to use it just like the Jackal shield.
I suppose it could work, provided it was balanced properly, unlike the knight’s teleporting ability
This is what the Covenant needs in terms of gameplay, new mechanics of combat. Plasma pistol + Headshot is cool, but it’s too tiring. And swordsmen Elites are very easy to defeat.
