Elite Ops Option

Would you like a seperate mode dedicated to Elites, have Elites payable in Spartan Ops, or just leave then out entirely?

I think if Spartan Ops is only Spartans then I would like a separate mode strictly for Elites.

Sounds like a nice idea like playing as Arbiter in halo 2

But, Spartan Ops is for the UNSC Infinity. They are training Spartan 4s on that giant ship, not Elites, so Elites don’t make any sense.

I think that would be an interesting and fun change from the strictly Spartan MM. I very much enjoyed the Arbiter missions in Halo 2.

Do you’re telling me that training with loyal Elites isn’t the same as training with other Spartan IVs?

If someone at 343 is a fan of Valve’s L4D series you might get some rehash of “Versus” only with Spartan’s vs player controlled Elites. Though it’s a sad thought of having to run back and revive a fallen player who’s been what pounced and had his face plate humped by a what?.. A Grockey?? ( Grunt+Jockey)

If you ask me blending plot into multiplayer was a bad idea from the get-go. All it did was create a legitimate excuse to cut the ability to play as Elites from Halo for good, which is something ALOT of people didn’t want to see happen, and detest Halo Reach because of.

But to be honest, we have no right to believe that we have seen every single game mode. 343i has only confirmed a lack of Elites in the Competitive portion of Multiplayer, which means the Cooperative portion can easily support Elites. Perhaps there is an “Arbiter” miniature Campaign, showing the Elite forces that chose to remain on the UNSC’s side instead of joining the new Covenant.

I assume you haven’t read the GI article and saw that the Elites are hostile enemies on the first mission.

I assume you haven’t read the Glasslands novel and saw that the elites are divided into at least 2 factions, including one that hates humanity, and one that sympathizes with them.

The Elites were loyal to fight a bigger threat that was the Flood and the prophets thinking that activating the Halos would be a good thing. As far as we know, they are at a state of peace, but not participating in a standing army.

The Elites in the GI article looked rogue, or pirate. Their armor is completely different from anything we have ever seen so I wonder if the destruction of the Prophets resulted in a few groups of loyal squads to break off to try and maintain the “old” Covenant.

The Spec-Ops armor didn’t look too different to me…

What they look way different, you can tell they’re rogue elites.

Only if I get an AI controlled Grunt lackey I can customise, order around and watch it suicide bomb the enemy every time I die.

I remember 343 saying spartan ops missions were canon, meaning not training.

Ture, but it could be a covenant ship with training elites instead of spartans.

@Blue Jess

That is an awesome idea.

Yeah. Multiplayer is training, Spartan Ops is canon story.

I believe they said some of Spartan Ops was canon.

No, give me Grunt Ops any day of the week.

I just got my GI in the mail, but from what I understand, Spartan Ops runs on “seasons” right?

Maybe the second season could be something like Elite Ops where you’re Elites against the UNSC?

Even though the post NeoGaf is fake, I would love this idea. ONLY if the Elites are stronger, bigger and faster or what would be the point? Another Halo 2 campaign? As much as I loved it I was peeved off at the fact that Arby was exactly the same as MC.
