Elite Missions?

I’ve been thinking of the Halo expanded universe and thought that its be interesting to play as an Elite in the next Halo installment, but not as a multiplayer function. Hear me out. In the next game imagine there is a mission that is either undertaken, or issues to the Sword of Saanghelios, and you play as one of the Arbiter’s elite agents. You are tasked with sneaking behind enemy lines to eliminate a Promethean General, or a Created General to remove their hold on an Elite colony world. You, as an Elite, use your cunning and stealth capabilities to evade Promethean forces to assassinate their leader. Utilizing your active camouflage, Ravening Sliver, and maybe a modified variant of the Honor Gaurd Plasma rifle, you out wit and out pace Promethean forces.
I’m not talking about the whole game, just maybe a mission for two, just as a change of pace. I think it could add an element of stealth prioritization over all out combat. Maybe even a spin off title

it’s called halo 2

I don’t ever remember seeing prometheans or hearing about the created in halo 2…so no it isn’t

Yeah, except in that game, you played as the Arbiter for nearly half the game. This would differ in that it would PRIORITIZE stealth, rather than all out combat. Hell, even change up the playstyle; instead of thrusters, the elite would have an evade mechanic, maybe remove the sprint function for these section of the game, you would have to modulate your movements to stay quiet and invisible, maybe even make it 3rd person. I mean there’s just so many small tweaks the developer can do to alter the experience in order to focus on the stealth element.

i say no, why not create a spin off were you play as elites all throughout the game?

I think one of the biggest mistakes Halo 5 made was that 343 underestimated the desire to play as John-117. People wait years for a Halo title to come out and while playing as the Arbiter actually turned out well in Halo 2, it was a huge gamble. Planning to take time away from John (and giving it to Locke as in Halo 5, for example) is a sure fire way to lose the audience.

I have been thingking about Rtas 'Vadum game.
It could be an adventure game, with not much combat. Shadow of Intent would be safe place where player could get right weapons and vehicles for objectives.
Map where game takes place would be full of wildlife and Forerunner secrects.
Enemies would be remaining Prophets and Drones, maybe even Sharquoi.

I think a spinoff game (Like along the lines of ODST, or Halo Wars where they’re still part of the story but aren’t the huge, anticipated ‘main games’) would be a great way to do this. I’ve always wanted a game that departs from the UNSC as our viewpoint. Like, maybe it takes place between Halo 3 and 4 and you play as the Arbiter and you’re focusing on destroying the remnants of the Covenant and rebuilding the Elite society on Sanghelios. Just my thoughts.

Or we could also just have an Assassin’s Creed/Halo crossover. You’re some elite with your fancy active camo and you have go around assassinating the remaining Prophets. I haven’t put quite as much thought into this one.

Maybe there could be some missions where you play as an elite. It wasnt that bad in Halo 2 though i imagine that with the modern combat harness of the elites you could be a bit too OP given the longer stealth and such where the Arbiter had a more or less unique situation of having a older type of armor to balance the gameplay with the Chief missions.

But id much rather could assault the banished like in Halo 2 you had the heretics and just get rid of prometheans as quickly (but still properly) as possible.

Difficult to do any spinoff focusing on Elites or Promotheans as POV because you severely limit the in-game experience. Playing as humans you can come up against any enemy, giving a great breadth to the battle scenes. Playing as Elites they’d never put you in line for killing humans.

Every game in the series has had two enemies. You could in theory play as Elites taking Elites and Promotheans, but that would take a significant departure from the canon.

Honestly I would have loved a Halo game where you see the Flood’s perspective. I remember there was a Halo Custom Edition mod that let you play as the Flood in one mission. I think it was called forgotten exile.

I was thinking about Elite game just yesterday😆.I think that we will get a spinoff game this year where we play as Elites and Halo 6 comes out next year.We will play as some Elites that got pulled through Guardians slipspace travel on Genesis, maybe some members of Swords of Sanghelios or some different Elites. We will have splitscreen and a lot of customization options in multiplayer.I think in multiplayer starting weapons will be Carbine and Plasma Rifle.

Sounds like an interesting idea for a campaign. sort of like Halo 2 missions with the arbiter. However don’t think that the elites will have too much of a role in the next halo as they have their own issues to deal with in their own system. Referring to Cortana parking a Guardian to patrol their system. Anyways the Sangheili navy and ground forces will be quite occupied with protecting their own home world.

Uh, no it wouldn’t. Sangheili fight for honor and don’t hesitate to kill any of their own species. We have Swords of Sanghelios, remember that. They’re allies to the UNSC. Heck, according to Halo: Warfleet, the Shadow of Intent received the Wargames technology from them to be used to train other Sangheili. So, no, playing as an Elite wouldn’t really make a departure for cannon. Plus, we still have the Servants of Abiding Truth and the newly introduced Banished. There’s more than enough opportunity’s to play again as a Sangheili without having to go against the UNSC.

That would bring a nice bit if diversity to the game. I’d definitely be down for that.

All true, good point. Commercially, it would be a big ask to rely on the Sangheili fan-base, but you’re right in that the potential is there for viable plot.

Making a game more focused on the Sangheili could be difficult. But I think playing a game focused on the Blooding Years (The Blooding Years are tensions among the Sangheili society, usually in Sanghelios) would be the perfect opportunity. Why not a game completely focused on aliens for the sake of it?

No, he means the Arbiter levels in Halo 2, and the Arbiter levels were great.

Personally, I think they were better than Chief’s. Yet, Gravemind and Regret are 2 of my 4 favorites.

I know what he means, but the op was talking about an elite campaign post halo 5 and the guy I replied to said it’s called halo 2
