The Elite Controller is a big investment. Just curious if any of you who own the Elite controller see an improvement in your Halo 5 Warzone gaming. I was thinking about taking the dive and getting one.
I just got one week or so ago. It definitely took some getting used to, but it’s like second nature now using the paddles. I use mine for things that would require me taking my thumbs off of the analog sticks, such as jump, crouch, grenade switch and switch weapons. The hair triggers are also nice.
Overall, if you’re serious about gaming I would definitely recommend it.
Had mine for two weeks and its amazing… The paddles are such a nice change. In order to use all four paddles you have to hold the controller differently which felt really weird but after you get used to it its hard to go back. I got the two year warranty at bestbuy so if anything breaks or whatever I can get a new one
I’ve had mine for a few months now. It’s expensive for sure but definitely worth the money if you play a lot. It feels like a 150$ controller in every way. I only use two paddles, one for thrust, the other for melee. Don’t think it’s going to vastly improve your gameplay tho, it’s not magic but it will help a bit. It takes some time getting use to but after a few days it will become second nature.

Ha! Best Buy loves you.
i have the elite, and it makes me miss my scuff. The overall build, grip, and trigger stops are better with the elite but the scuff paddles are so much better than the elites. I miss them every time I play. I’ll be looking to sell my elite shortly to pick up a scuff.
Just go for it. Will take a while to get used to the paddles. But go all in with four of them and after a while you’ll notice you are winning far more fights. Would be nearly impossible to go back. Enjoy
I have jump,crouch,grenade,boost best combo
Had mine since December & love it. I’m only a serious gamer in that I play almost every day for fun. Totally worth the cost. I don’t use the paddles because I had some personal difficulty mapping the functions I wanted to, and rather than figure it out I said “screw it” and just started playing. Much better than the regular controller, regardless.
TIP: if you set triggers to “hair trigger” you have to disable that in order to overcharge a plasma pistol (going after a tank, banshee, etc) but that’s easy to do, since the switch is on the bottom near the trigger. Mine are always on “hair trigger”, I only worry about it if a pick up a plasma pistol (rare occurrence)
Thanks All, appreciate the feedback. I feel better now about dropping the cash for one.
Its great!

You do realise you can calibrate the hair trigger so that charged shots still work & don’t need to switch it off all the time… As for customising the paddles you can map any buttons you like for any combination you prefer, in addition you get 2 pre selects you can switch between easily.
I’ve seen major improvements from the long stick alone. Being able to use 7 sensitivity with the same control as a lower sensitivity is incredible. The back paddles are helpful, but not as much as you’d think. The face buttons really weren’t that big of a deal to hit before now that I think about it. Placing X on a paddle drastically helps with hijacking, though. Also, putting the hair trigger lock on LT helps with automatic weapons by allowing you to quickly rescope over and over in mid-battle. I tried setting my left stick to “Aggressive” in order to strafe better, but I found it made it more difficult to move in a straight line, so I figured it would make bee-lining it to power weapons harder.
Bro, get it.
My game improved so much that sometimes (I’m admittedly not the best) but sometimes, I’ve been accused of cheating.
You honestly just have to try it for yourself. I actually recently returned mine. It threw my game off really bad. The paddles were hard to get used to, even when I used only 2. The analog sticks felt much different too. I did really life the hair triggers though. The quality of the controller is awesome of course, but imo, for my case it was just unnecessary. I played ok with the standard controller. So I began to see it as “Why fix what isn’t broken?”
So I returned it. Bumper jumper is the layout I use. I feel fine with it. I don’t even claw grip either. There’s tons of positive reviews of course, but honestly for anyone reading this. You need to try it for yourself and give it at least until a day before the return policy ends.
You fall into one these 2 categories
-took time to get used to, play much better now. Very happy with purchase
-can’t get used to it. The features are underused. Not worth the investment if it’s causing more harm than good.
Now if you do get used to it, but find yourself playing basically just as good as you did without it…well…was it really worth it? If you don’t mind spending money on it though, well none if this really matters. It only matters if you’re questioning if its worth it for you, and hesitate about spending the money on it.
Quality wise, it’s very worth it. Use wise, that is for you to decide.
I think it’s worth the money I invested in it, I thought I’d only use one paddle just for crouching but I now use every paddle and I’ve replaced all the face buttons. My reflexes and aiming are a lot better since I started using it because my right thumb will always be occupied with aiming while my middle and ring finger allow for more action with the paddles.
I thought that I was going to hate it the second I started using it. I was very bad with it at first, but then I decided to (1) remove the two lower paddles so I can fix my grip from years of clenching the handles and (2) unbind the keys that I used to use for what is now mapped to my paddles. It forced me to use the paddles to play, and I have to say after just a few days you really get into the routine and it becomes like second nature. Now I have noticed significant improvement in my play, simply because I can perform maneuvers while keeping my thumb on the stick to aim. I will note that your movement might take time to adjust too - mine did. I had to compensate for how I used to move and snap shot to accommodate for removing my thumb to press a button. Now the movement is much more fluid, but it didn’t happen overnight.
As a user of Default controls, and not wanting to swap, having a paddle for Jump is very helpful. I actually have paddles for all the buttons on the right though.
It’s really good, one of my Best Friends rolls with it; I’ve tried it out and after getting used to it, it does make a huge difference. Though, I personally use the Razer Wildcat over the Elite controller.
If you play Halo and other shooters, and not much else; both are equally good. They’re the same price and offer the same quality, just through different means.
