"Elite" Controller Users

I myself use an Elite controller. It helps propel me into the very highest ranks Halo games have ever had, the much-desired low Platinum ranks. But there is one thing about the controller that has always bothered me…

I only spent a measly $150 on it.

If you share these feelings with me, check out this product that may remedy your concerns. It’s basically a second set of accessories that come stock with the controller, but these are vaguely Halo themed. At a $50 price tag. Finally! I’m closer in my fictional quest to make my controller more expensive than my console.

Thanks to cryhavoc91 for showing this product to me. Hope my OP made you lol and brightened your day!

I just got my Elite controller today. But I only got it because I have a drawer with three broken Xbox One controllers, two of which have severe drift-sticks, and the third, the Master Chief controller, the left bumper fell out (the thing lasted from December until March, days after the warranty expired). It’s not that I’m rough with them, on the contrary, my 360 controllers lasted me 6+ years (one of them a decade). So I only bought this thing out of desperation for a decent controller, not to be any better at the game.

But anyway, those paddles look cool, but damn, man, I had those on just now (first time ever using them) and I don’t think I can rewire my brain to jumping, reloading, and switching weapons with paddles. Not after all these years of Halo. Maybe after some more practice. But I certainly can’t justify spending $50 on some painted flippers I’m never gonna use.

The trick is to do one paddle at a time. Start with thruster pack. Even if that’s the only one your brain can handle, it will make your gameplay like 5% better

My Elite controller has developed a fault…the top right paddle no longer “clicks” and doesn’t work at all most of the time now. Its really hard adjusting back to a standard layout so going to have to get it replaced on warrantee.

I bought the fusion controller has similar extra buttons for mapping and trigger locks. But I couldn’t bring my self to spend $150 on a controller when I only wanted to remap the crouch button.

50$ for all that … That’s more ridiculous than the whole controller
I’ll stick with my stock elite controller paddles

OK, but how can I spend more?

If you don’t use the HCK (Halo Component Kit) you can’t be taken seriously as a halo player or as a person.

  1. you’re a killjoy
  2. I sucked before I got an elite controller and I still suck now but it feels so good and being able to reload, switch weapons, thrust, and jump without taking my thumbs off the sticks is awesome.

Yeah, the elite controller really ties in well with halo 5 and the movement options. I’m glad I chose to get mine. Now to deck it out with halo paddles! Lol

My MC controller did the same thing. It just fell out one night playing. Left side also.

I just use one paddle on my Elite Controller for the thruster pack. The hair triggers are also nice alongside the fact that this controller has more weight to it versus your standard Xbox One Controller.

My elite controller has a miniature satellite dish on it but I don’t use it for Halo. It’s for when Taylor Swift calls and wants to hang out.
still waiting…

That’s one of the biggest advantages, being able to thrust without leaving the sticks.

Well I hear she will be contacting you soon… Lol

Why are you waiting for Taylor Swift to call you when Carly Rae Jepson gave you her number and told
you to call her maybe?

I bought that idiotic component pack because I’m a total sucker. In short: buy the Elite, it’s awesome. Skip the overpriced Halo accessories for it.

I also bought it, because credit card debt is fun! But I’m actually impressed with the paddles so far. The stock ones are a lot longer, which gives them more leverage. I found myself pressing paddles when I didn’t mean to. I didn’t have that problem with these halo paddles last night.
