I know there are a few older threads out there on this, but now that the elite controller and customizable controller settings have been out for a while, I’m curious to see what stick settings people have settled with. Right now I use.
Sensitivity: 4-5
Right stick: smooth
left stick: aggressive
deadzones: both 0
acceleration: 2*
*i have been trying an acceleration of 5 lately, seems like since it will only effect pegging speed it would be nice to have this jacked up for quick turning (without sacrificing precise aiming).
i am mostly curious which stick settings in the elite controller people find best, and if you think an acceleration of 5 is optimal ( not like I peg the stick in firefights, right?)
Thanks for this post. I just got my elite and hadn’t adjusted anything yet. I just tried your settings and it’s very nice indeed. I almost don’t mind playing swatnums now as this helped with the delay I always had with the magnum in fast aim situations.
Glad I could help. Have you tried turning up the acceleration?
Do not use sensitivity patterns in xbox accessories app.
They are bugged, just try to move diagonally with right stick and you’ll see it slow down too much

I though that this was a hardware issue only on certain controllers. I never noticed that.
Mine works good as I use default pattern. As soon as I try another pattern, the problem arise.
Standard controller settings, 3 sens, 2 accel, 0 deadzones.

Why not a higher acceleration?
I use 5 sens and 4 accel. I started doing better when I switched to aggressive on the right stick, but it’s all up to personal preference.

I haven’t yet. I turned up sensitivity, but haven’t played around much with acceleration. I need to as I’m not happy with my current turn speed yet.

I think I figured out your problem. When you push the right stick diagonally the aim acceleration doesn’t kick in as much, only when you push it to the left or right. So this issue should only apply when you are pushing your sick all the way to the end, unless you have really high outer deadzone settings. Also this same phenomenon should be present with the default stick settings as well.
I used to use the input curves back before they exposed all the extra input options.
Now I have them turned off, with sensitivity at 4, aim acceleration at 3, and the dead zones set very low (about 2%).
Before that I had my sensitivity set ridiculously high (something like 6 or 7), which is unusual for me, because I’ve generally kept it at about 3 or 4 in the older games
I would definitely recommend to anyone using an acceleration lower than 4 to bump it up. It won’t hurt you aim.
So many people complained that the aim acceleration was too high at release, but I think it was too low after being able to increase it. Like dmott92 said 4 or 5 is great.
i don’t see y you would pay so much for this controller any way i see it as a controller thats gonna break as soon as the insurance runs out or something and its microsoft trying to make money
Ballistic Krate

Sounds like you are just convincing yourself not to get one.

Have you tried the smooth setting for the right stick?
Just in case anyone here wants some good pointers, the 343 guys (a while back) gave us some great controllter settings geared for the stock XB1 wireless controller. It should be searchable within the “News” section. I know I changed my settings to theirs & it changed my game 180 degrees.
Pardon me for eeking in. Thought some Spartans might find it useful.
Xbox elite controller
Default stick curves.
3 sensitivity
5 acceleration
Default button layout
Right and left stick clicks swapped
0 dead zones
Left paddle jump
Right paddle thrust
Auto stabilize off
Maintain sprint off
Toggle crouch off
Vibration off
This is the best layout so far. Low sens for accurate aim. High accel for quick turning. Default for fast and accurate smart link (zooms in faster than right click). Swapped stick clicks so that crouch is left stick instead of right. It makes it easier to crouch and shoot.

Where can I find this?
