I mean, I suppose people can give you suggestions, but this is really something you should be figuring out through trial and error, methinks.

I agree with you. I read this interesting post with a very unique setup (of course I cant find it now) about a setup that was completely different than mine. Originally when I got the elite remote I was transitioning from a standard bumper jumper play style into a default button layout with top right paddle as thrust, bottom right paddle as crouch, and top left as jump. Took time to adjust but now after reading the previous mentioned post about the “unique button layout” I am for two days now playing with the following controls and its super hard to get the muscle memory down:
Bumper Jumper
LT: Jump: switched to Left Trigger
LB: Melee
RT: Shoot
RB: Grenade
R Stick Click: Switch Weapon
L Stick Click: Switch Grenade
R top Paddle: Sprint/Stabilize
R low Paddle: Aim
L top Paddle: Thrust
L low Paddle: Crouch
The post mentioned the benefits of all the controls and made great points. Especially with switching jump to LT. I just have been extremely struggling to get used to the new format and have been so weak all on aspects of my game. It has even affected my jumps since my movement has been changed so dramatically. Stabilize jumps seem super challenging even on the easiest of jumps like from plaza to top yellow pipes.
I feel discouraged to play since I’m consistently a Onyx level player and my new weak strafe makes low diamonds a challenge. I’m debating on whether to go back to a less invasive setup or just stick with this setup until it becomes second nature.
I would set it up to where you don’t have to remove your right thumb from the right thumb stick. I use the higher right thumb stick attachment. I use all the paddles: A and B on the right hand and thrust and crouch on the left. Right thumb-stick press, is “Y” (weapon switch) I use the “aggressive” setting (sensitivity curve) on the right thumb stick and have my in game sensitivity at 3 and 5 look speed. I’m still testing but so far this is the best for me. Have the elites controller for about three years now. If you have the new Elite 2 use the wider thumb stick for the left thumb stick. (feels better)Pure Talent
I agree with Afro Thunda X, but why waste time if someone else has figured it out. I would like to hear other suggestions as well.

It took me a few months to get comfortable with my new set up. The problem is that I can’t go back to other games and get my buttons mixed up and I can’t use a regular controller anymore.

Correction: left paddles are crouch and melee (not thrust but dash)
I play it on bumper jumper, left paddle thrust, right run. (I just use two paddles)
You need to try some settings and feel the best for your style. I know some players that use it with the same configuration that I have (2 paddles) and they use the same, run and thrust but a lot of then have it on the contrary (they thrust right, run left).
The other thing I did to the elite settings is that I have the vibration in about 5%. And the triggers “sensitivity” is in the faster configuration, like I push them and I don’t have to push all the trigger.
ps: It took me about 2-3 weeks to learn to use the paddles. Is hard but try not to use the buttons you change.

I know this might be a dead thread, but I’m just getting back into this game and just got an Elite 2 to replace the first one. Trying to use your settings, but one thing I didn’t notice is are you using the default scheme, or something like bumper jumper? That would obv make a difference to what the buttons do. Thanks if you are able to reply!
I’m useing the default scheme settings. If you find something better please let me know. See you out there.

I’m now using sensitivtiy 4 and 4. I seem to be winning more matches with that setting.
I start with helljumper then move sprint to the left thumb stick click
i map the left paddle to crouch and the right paddle to equipment.
This way I only have to take my thumb off of the right stick to switch weapons and to pickup weapons.
I also have tried playing with two additional paddles but it feels like too much.
Complete layout:
left trigger: smart link
left bumper: jump
left stick click: sprint (zoom)
left paddle upper: crouch
left paddle lower: interact
right trigger: shoot
right bumper: grenade
right stick click: melee
y: change weapons
b: interact
a: sprint zoom
x: thrusters
right paddle upper: thrusters
right paddle lower: change weapons
the only complaint i have is that changing weapons or interacting requires a right thumb movement.
I think you have to do your own tests because all people have different configurations.
On my scuf I have thr right main trigger and B and the inner one as X,on the left I have A as main and Y as the inner, its the setup I had for cod and didn’t change it and it works great.
I play with the Reco config and I put for the 4 palettes the keys A, B, C and D.
So I don’t touch them on top of the controller.
With the Elites controllers (and Scuf for example), configs no longer mean anything.
