Elite armor question

I have been having this inner debate for a while but I just now got around to posting it here.
There are a few different elite armor variants (of course people only pick the gaudiest armor) and when waiting around for the game to start (matchmaking is horrible… with all the lag and delays in loading… but that’s another story) I looked between my elite armor (ranger armor… fitting for someone whose Spartan armor is as ODST as possible  ) and their armor.
Now, I have read that different armor pieces are not to change up gameplay, but it seems that the elite armor silhouettes differ depending on what you choose.

Ranger armor has the smallest, and Ultra, General, Field Marshal, and Zealots have the biggest. This is pretty obvious to me in gameplay as it is easier to hit the head on the upper class armor then on Ranger armor. However, it seems since almost no one uses ranger armor (or at least I can’t find any when I am in a match) I can’t make an accurate comparison.
I’d say, however, that the size of the helmet is about the size of a Spartan’s head.
Anybody else notice this?

Lol only reason I play as ranger is cause of the awesome finger plate thingies

The hitboxes of your player model does not change depending on your armour choices.

Spartan & Elites do have completely different hitboxes though.

Yeah, as Moa said, the hitboxes only change from Spartan to Elite, but I’m not sure how they deal with the height differences?

The Elites are actually taller, so they have larger hitboxes.

There is no difference in size for armour for both Elites & Spartan which will effect the hitbox.

Hmm…
Well, I suppose bigger armor makes it easier to hit the target, not the size of hitboxes. There is no spartan armor that expands outward, but most elite armor has armor pieces that expands outward.
It’s like looking through a higher-zoom scope from a lower-zoom scope. The size of the target doesn’t change (in reality) but in your scope it does.
