Eliminate friendly Fire with vehicles

Heres the proposal. Get rid of friendly fire dealing with vehicles. Those on your team can’t hurt in the vehicle and you can’t hurt them.

Notice how I am not saying to get rid of friendly fire when both players are outside of vehicles. that can be dealt with by another means. Why waste a vehicle shooting at it among yourselves? Just deal with it and get another vehicle.

I swear a couple days ago some -Yoink- decided because he wasn’t able to get the wraith, he would get on the wraith and melee the crap out of it. I finally couldn’t take it anymore and shot the plasma mortar (him being right on top of it) and it killed him and the game decided that was enough and he booted me.

Also a couple weeks ago while on i believe it was Breakneck and I get to the banshee first and the guy I beat to it decides because he didn’t get, I couldn’t have it either, so he get the sniper rifle starts shooting at my banshee to try to kill me.

These are just some of the more recent ones, and I somehow doubt I’m a only case here.

if anyone thinks I’m in the wrong, feel free to tell me. I just get deeply perturbed when someone decides to be immature because he didn’t get his way or some happens to get in my line of fire. Annoying occurrences.

P.s. I don’t betray people very often unless I am betrayed. I don’t resort to such stupidity unless they piss me off.

I say put it in the beta and if it works it works, and if it doesn’t than scrap it.

A smarter boot system would be nice, but I still think its dumb and unfair that your teammates can get way with shooting your vehicle then stop because your pretty low health and then your easy pickings for the enemy and you die.

Friendly fire has always been the default. If you manage to shoot and kill your teammates or accidentally run them over then that’s on you. Next time watch your nades, vehicles, and lines of fire.

Meh… agreed

Somehow I doubt you people even read the entire post. Reading helps. It wasn’t that long.

Just forget the accidental betrayal stuff. I rarely ever get those. Like ever. I just noticed that other people mentioned themselves being kicked because there did it. Just forget that though. There annoying when they happen but it doesn’t piss me that off because there my fault when they rarely happen. I’m not when those raging noobs who would complain about something like that.

Heres the thing that was my major pet peeve the other thing don’t really care about. What I think is really unfair is when you happen to beat your teammates to vehicle and they decide to rage about, they do immature -Yoink- like anything from shooting at your vehicle and make you use pickings for enemies to make it no where possible to do anything without betraying them.

Here are my examples of immature players.

I swear a couple days ago some -Yoink!- decided because he wasn’t able to get the wraith, he would get on the wraith and melee the crap out of it. I finally couldn’t take it anymore and shot the plasma mortar (him being right on top of it) and it killed him and the game decided that was enough and he booted me.

I don’t like the idea but it has to be done. This happens to me all the time and for the people who don’t agree with you, obviously they are one of these people or it never happens to them. Another problem I have is a power weapon, I was killed by somebody for the sniper rifle and couldn’t boot him. I want another solution besides the booting system.

If it ever happens to you again (most definitely) just destroy their vehicle, iT pisses them off.

I hate it when I get into a Falcon and as I’m warming up the engines a teammate decides to jump on the rotors, forcing my betrayal of him and me being booted.

I feel your pain,my friend. If I get to the Wraith first, then some ‘Yoink!’ who thinks it has their name on it,or think that theyre the only ones who know how to use it,decides to get a plasma pistol and EMP me so I cant move. If I hit him, then he boots me. GRRRRRRRRRRRR…

I think to fix this problem they should,as you have stated, eliminate any damage inflicted by friendly fire(even EMPing),meleeing,or running over.

Another thing I must add, although I much more prefer your idea,is to make booting available 100% of the time. Why isnt it? Is it only available to hosts, or is the boot option system sucky? If somebody does the above to you,you should be able to boot him knowing that stuck up ‘Yoink!’ is crying because he didnt get what he wanted.

Anyway,I agree w/ you. Eliminate MP friendly fire

Hmmm… maybe you can get booted if you do enough damage to a teammate in a certain amount of time?

Say that you grab the revenant on Hemmorhage. Jerkface117 is angry because he wanted the revenant. He starts shooting you and brings down your shields, and starts whittling away at your health. If your health gets below a certain amount, you get the option to boot.

Another example. SniperBob343 is sniping at the enemy. You weren’t paying attention to SniperBob343 and run in front of his reticle as he is about to shoot. He accidentally kills you. You don’t get the option to boot him, because the time span was too short. However, SniperBob343 gets a strike against him. If he betrays another teammate, accidentally or not, he’s at the mercy of the person he betrayed. This is to prevent players betraying each other with power weapons.

Last example. You and MeatShield049 are attacking an enemy. During the fight, MeatShield049 is damaged by the enemy. You throw a grenade and both the enemy and MeatShield049 die because of it. This is what happens: The enemy gets credit for killing MeatShield049, and you get credit for the kill and NO strikes against you. (MeatShield049 gets an assist.)

Thoughts?

Perhaps there could be something such as assisted betrayal. Lets say your teammate decides to badly damage damage your vehicle and an enemy happens to kill. If your teammate did a majority of the damage, at least half of the damage, you should be given a opition to boot that said teammate. Or the system you suggested.

Its a rare occurrence, though I could see it happening. Usually because that weapon has such a low aoe (obviously) its hard to hit others unless they happen to be really close or you are intentionally aiming at them. I say if you get two betrayals with a sniper, it pretty much means your doing it on purpose, one betrayal by sniper could be accidental. I don’t know its a difficult situation because we don’t always know what a player’s intent was.

I agree with the last one and I think the game actually does this most of the time, though it will occasionally give you a betrayal.

The main thing I will adovacate is a system that punishes those who think just because they didn’t get what they wanted means they can ruin somebody else time by making sure you can’t do anything but betray them or by shooting you and eventually the enemy coming upon and killing you because you were weakened.

If not disabled friendly fire for vehicles, the boot system needs to be improved to be smarter and more factors need to be taken into consideration when the game figures betrayal.

Only for firefight would I agree with this, because in firefight there always seems to be that one -Yoink- who wants to blow up the warthog.
