Hi, I purchased a retail copy of Halo: MCC when it released on Nov 11. Due to the broken multiplayer mode and lack of internet quota, I did not sign up for Xbox Live Gold and hence chose not download the 20GB patch to play online, instead playing the campaign offline. Am I still eligible for the Master Chief Collection Free Content? I have the original receipt and have logged activity and achievements while offline.
If not, please understand that it is unreasonable that free content as an apology for being unable to play online be available only to those who have played online! Also, announcing this offer after the eligibility has closed does not give owners of the game the chance to sign in! I have spoken to Xbox Support, who agree with my case and instructed me to contact 343 Industries. Thanks.
don’t know mate, but definitely poor thinking on their part
You are in the exact same position as I am buddy. Don’t know either about our situation.

Actually my case is a bit more complicated because i’ve installed the game “offline” November.11. But since I don’t have unlimited data internet, I’ve been downloading that “way too BIG” patch on a scale of a month. So my game was fully patch December 26…guess I’m fckd! Thanks 343!
First, you needed to play online so they could log your Gamertag. Second, they actually announced the compensations weeks in advance (although we didn’t know what it was at that time) and they announced the eligibility dates prior to it ending. The only thing you won’t be getting is the 1 month XBL, nameplates, avatars, and ODST (which is the big one). You will still get the Relic H2A remake.
EDIT: If anything I feel like they should of extended the date until the end of the year or maybe until the end of the Halo 5 beta? Other than that you had to be online to play because that puts your GT on the list that they can obtain. It would be way too messy of a process if they were to accept receipts.
OP did you connect to Xbox Live while playing MCC from November 11 to December 19? No you did not.
Therefore, no you do not qualify for compensation.
How is it so hard for people to understand? Why do they make the laughable excuse that they didn’t log on due to the broken servers. You wouldn’t even attempt to connect? Oh wait you had no Xbox Live. I’m unsure as to why this thread was made.
