Not sure if the search just isn’t working for me or if no one wants Elephants back but I do, so I made this topic.
I remember playing a gametype in Halo 3 called Pirate Ships that made you use the Elephants on Sandtrap (renamed Pirate ships for this gametype) as your main source of travel due to them being the only areas on the map where you had full health and shields meaning you were a sitting duck if you just ran towards the other teams Elephant and were easy to kill while riding around on the Mongoose which were used like speedboats to make quick attacks.
With all the cool new options to lock trait fields to vehicles and make vehicles the hill among other things, having big open maps with Elephants or those big things on that one pic would just be awesome and make for even more awesome gametypes and shenanigans, especially if they were place-able and maybe even destructible (give 1 team 2 Elephants with faster vehicles inside and the other team a regular base to defend) or had different variants to choose from (machinegun, gauss, transport, one with a landing pad on top, etc.).
I think more people would have liked Sandtrap and the Elephants more if you had a big open space to play with them in, instead of just driving them around in circles which even then people figured out fun ways to use them, just imagine the possibilities if they were on big open maps. Come on 343 I have faith Halo 4 is going to be just as epic as the first time I took my original Xbox home and played Halo:CE and I believe this would just be even more awesomeness on the already awesome cake.
We have been shown images of what is proposed to be the Elephant’s replacement, known as the Mammoth. It is significantly larger than the Elephant. It may be appearing in the Campaign. Whether or not the Mammoth will appear in multiplayer or have a multiplayer map dedicated to it is still unknown. It it still entirely possible though. There are still 6 maps we haven’t been shown.
Raven looks like a good map to put one elephant in and it like a mobile hotspot to control like on Sandtrap, but with one and not two. If not then the Mommith better be in a Campaign level AND Spartan Ops.

Raven? I think you mean Haven. We haven’t been shown any map called “Raven.” Also, if Haven is what you’re really referring to, then it would be impossible to place anything as massive as an Elephant in a map that small.
If we had never gotten them it would be different (pelicans) but it has been a big tease just to have them once and only in a circle. I was almost sure we would get them for Forge World or if we had gotten a Forge World 2 DLC but no love. Come on 343 give us this please even if they are the same as Halo 3? Just imagine the possibilities (with territories, capture the flag, assault, and the new trait customization options) to be had with large open worlds and Elephants. If yall don’t have it at launch please bring it to us via DLC everyone on the poll so far is for yes.
