This is a great idea. Also add some Promethean mobile base and you have a possible new game type. Objective to destroy or hijack the enemy base etc.

Pitting an elephant against a Scarab is a bit one sided, and not very well scaled. Make it a Mammoth vs Scarab.

This is partially possible in Halo 3, but with the use of mods.
