Something I would like to see in H4: when vehicles flip, I hope the Spartans inside don’t magically pop out upright. I think there should be a brief (1-2 second) animation of them pulling out of the vehicle and pulling their bodies upright. The way it works now when a vehicle comes to a standstill upside down, the players kind of “spawn” outside of the vehicle. It would look more realistic, and punish players for letting their vehicle be flipped.
Anyway, the reason behind me posting this: I flipped a hog in MM in Reach recently and went in for a melee kill only to be assassinated by a player that “spawned” outside of the hog lol it was horrible luck.
Why would you punish a driver for having his vehicle flipped? It’s not always controllable.
So an enemy throws a random frag or shoots a rocket underneath the Warthog, it flips, and then everyone in the Warthog goes through a 1-2 second animation where they can’t use their weapons and thus are immediately killed?

As someone else on the forums once said, the vehicles in reach were made of paper. Way to easy to destroy.

If the animation is not long enough to effect gameplay then who cares.

2-3 seconds of being an easy target is enough to affect gameplay.

What if it only performs the animation when the vehicle is completely overturned for a few seconds, and the player hasn’t gotten out yet?

I agree that they’re too easy to destroy in Reach, but I don’t want them anywhere near the way they were in Halo 3.
I would like it if the DMR did a little less damage to vehicles than it does in Reach, but still was effective against vehicles. The BR should be much less effective against vehicles kind of like it was in H3.
I would really only want the short animation for getting out of an overturned vehicle if the vehicle were completely upside down. I would want it to be at or less than one second, it would just make the game look less stupid. It’s 2012, and in my opinion there is no excuse for the lack of animations for things like this. I don’t see a reason why this would affect gameplay so much that one would not want it in the game.
