In the original HALO: Combat Evolved, when you shoot any of the UNSC weapons, the spent shell casings/ejecting brass stayed on-screen for a while - they would even roll down hills and sloping geometry.
Will HALO INFINITE have this cool, immersive feature as well?
I hope so. I remember using theatre mode to find the fun Chief EG-X message on the back of the warthog bullets as one of my earliest halo memories.
That was a cool little detail.

And if Bungie could do that back in the day, then this can’t be that big of an ask.

For real:metal:t2:
It would be a nice detail. Not necessary, but it would add to the game over all.
To me this is one of the little details that in the grand scheme isn’t really necessary but is really appreciated by those who pay attention to the small details. It’s like a garnish on a nice dish…it shows that the preparer of said dish went the extra mile. I’d like to see it be in the game.

In any 1st person shooter that I play, every time I fire a weapon, I follow the trajectory of the spent shells to see where they land to see if they stay on-screen, as well as if I can interact with them.
Aside from HALO: CE, Max Payne 2 also did this very well:
I didn’t even realize that was a thing in CE. Do all the games have that or just CE? I don’t really care if Infinite has it or not but that’s a cool little detail.
maybe along with magazines spent, when dropped on the floor. They dont have to be detailed, just there for a while to look at.

Exactly.
Play HALO: Combat Evolved or HALO 3 - both games accomplished this effect - one in 2001 and the other in 2007. The strange thing is, that if you revert to the OG graphics mode in HALO: Combat Evolved, the spent shell casings stay on-screen, bounce around, roll down hills, etc. On the Anniversary Edition Remaster; they disappear. I really hope that 343I fixes this simple effect - for both The Master Chief Collection and HALO INFINITE.
This is 2021; surely the same effect can be accomplished today🤷🏻♂️

It added a tremendous amount to the atmosphere and realism. I hope the effect returns in HALO INFINITE and is patched into HALO: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition🙏🏻
I did love to just sometimes fire the Halo CE AR at nothing just to see the hail of shell casings raining onto the ground as a kid. So much fun and definitely added a level of immersion as well. It would be really awesome if Infinite did that as well or had the spent magazines fall to the ground. Imagine seeing the used SPNKR casing just lying there on the ground after you reloaded! Modern Warfare 2019 did a great job with this where they actually had different sounds recorded for when the shell casings hit the ground on different surfaces such as wood or stone. I don’t think Infinite will have quite that level of immersion but it would be really cool if they did.

Hopefully 343I will take the time to add all of the necessary details - both visually & audibly - that will make HALO INFINITE perfect🤘🏻
Yes, that would be amazing.

Hopefully 343I can add that same nice detail in HALO INFINITE:metal:t2:
