Apparently the last Halo CEA terminal shows the Didact symbol while talking about this. I think we might be fighting the Forerunners after all.

I think the Didact will be A man enemy, but I think it’s the Timeless One who’s pulling the strings.

Probably this. And apparently in the lore some 110,000 years previously mankind was as advanced as the Forerunner and fought them, but lost.

Some are virtually confirmed, others are wild speculation, at the moment we have very little to go on when trying to work out which ones will be in the campaign.
