Either Remove JIP Or Fix It!

The Join-In-Progress mechanic is completely broken and useless. Every single time this sort of thing occurs, it’s basically a 100% guaranteed loss. Also, it seems that more than 1/2 of your team has to be gone before it actually allows players to join. So the question is why it is even used at all?

As for the broken aspect of it, there have been numerous times where I have gotten into a game where there might only be one person on the other team whilst the other team is entirely full. For example, I joined a Warzone game and I joined a team with only 5 players while the other team was full and it is going to proceed to give me the loss. Really? How is any way is this fair?

Honestly, this needs to be addressed somehow, and it doesn’t matter how. Make it to where a late JIP match doesn’t count as a loss or make it to where games that are less than 1/4 or 1/3 of the way completed are the only accessible ones through JIP. That or just take it out altogether and make it to where if 1/2 or more of the team quits, the people who stayed in the game don’t get the loss on their record.

TL:DR; The JIP system is terrible in this game, as joining a losing game and losing counts 100% as a loss. It is essentially a double punishment (joining a losing game and getting the loss on your record) and either they need to completely reevaluate how the system works (something more along the lines of Titanfall minus joining games really late) or take it out altogether.

I agree that it needs work. One simple fix would be to remove your win/loss record from the stats since it’s a social gametype or at least not make it so prominently displayed like it is in Warzone. Then people shouldn’t be so upset when they join a losing game.

The thing about it is that to implement something like this isn’t very complicated as multiple games have done it (Titanfall, COD, etc.), so I’m curious as to why something has been done about it yet for Halo.

Your guess is as good as mine. It’s been complained about for months and months so it’s something that needs looking into.

If people didn’t quit it would not be an issue. Deal with the problem, not the symptom.

That’s also involved with JIP. When people are put into awful game in Warzone that involves them being triple capped, their tendency most of the time is to leave because they already know they’re about to lose.

Just a weird analogy, but imagine you buy something and when you open it, it’s broke or things are missing. When you try to get compensated for this issue, they do nothing. That’s kind of how it feels. Same with the game. You go to join a game that is already losing, and you get the loss on your record because you had no control over that loss? You get the bad end of the stick because of somebody else? It just isn’t right.

lets talk about JIP in breakout, it sucks. Sometimes you join when the game is 4 to 0 and the opposite team wins and you just join to see the last cut scene.

Man, this reminds me of my first halo 5 btb match ever. It was ctf, and 5 seconds after I joined, the enemy team captured their last flag. I threw a grenade in anger.

Does this mean that your kills, commendations, from the game don’t count either?

I 100% hate it! Today I was put into a Strongholds BTB match where the score was almost 90-0… ya…thanks 343I, that was a fun…

I’d say if they are going to keep it, just give us the option to able to turn it off!! So annoying!

The things listed above should still count. This is my belief, but since the things that you’ve listed above are personal stats, those should be counted no matter what. However, a game win/loss isn’t only controlled by you, but other players as well, so if you join a late game, the loss is out of your control. However, you kills, deaths, etc. reflect on your own performance.

well it’s still not fixed.

I especially dislike wasting a rare or legendary boost on a JIP instant loss. On multiple occasions I have JIP’d onto the losing team into a game with 1 minute left. How is that even fair?
