So the download for halo 4 is going to take 8Gb!? It took me a day to download the BF3 Armored Kill which is 1.64 GB so its going to at least take 3 days for me!
I think it’s an 8gb install from the disc, not the Internet

If your worried about it, then don’t install the disc. it should still play perfectly fine without being installed.
Is this just for the install from the disc, or does it include necessary space for Spartan Ops?

To elaborate further, you’ll be using the second disc once, for installing roughly 8 GB of data onto your xbox, and you’ll be using the first disc for Campaign, Spartan Ops (which is downloaded from the marketplace iirc), Forge, Theater, and accessing the installed Multiplayer (a la Forza 4).

The 1.64 GB DLC took that long because it was a “download” whereas putting Halo 4 on you hard drive is an installation which should only take approx. 30 minutes.

I think Spartan OPs comes on the disc, but is locked until unlocked by 343. I can’t confirm this, but it would make a lot more sense this way for those without live.

Its usually slow like15% of the time its “moderate” but im relieved that its a disk install not a download.

I’ve actually never played it so I can’t comment on it being simple or not, I just know that Halo 4’s Multiplayer will work in the same vain.
BF3 already killed my HDD. Now I have to get a new one. #20GB
Yeah It’s 8gb from the disk. having it as a download would most certainly suck if that were the case. it is quite a bit of space though. I have the 250gb xbox so it’s not a problem for me. I’m also getting the LE Console so I wont have a problem any which way.

I don’t think so. I don’t think all the Spartan Ops missions are done yet. I am pretty sure we’ll have to DL those later.

30 minutes is a pretty high estimate. 7.6gb discs take me 10 minutes at the most.
But yeah, it’s off the disc so it’ll be fast.
I still don’t know why they need 8 freakin gigs to allow us to play the game. I mean seriously.
