The people I’ve been playing with through a good bit of Halo 4, and again here with 5, are all better than me. Some of them are way better. And yes, it makes game play a true test of character. I find that I’m willing to bleed out my eyeballs like that for two, maybe three matches, and then I have to politely excuse myself, change my status to off-line, and cleanse my palette (and my soul) with a quick round of Reach firefight. It isn’t even so much that I mind the pummeling - it’s that I feel like I’m letting them down. So small doses of that go a long way, even though I really like them all and enjoy the camaraderie. If these were just random people I’d only known for five weeks, and only known through having joined the Spartan Company… then, yeah, I’d probably leave and look for one made up of genuine scrubs like myself.
