[EDIT] Xbox profile not synced with Halo servers

I’ve been having issues with the MCC for months now.

And lately my achievements don’t show anymore. Nor does the Player ID nameplate section load every time I try to open it. If it does open the nameplates, it doesn’t unlock some of the ones I’ve completed.

My Xbox One says I have 117/0 achievements for the MCC. The game itself says that I have 0% progress in the game (but it used to show 22%) despite having finished all games on Heroic and having started Halo 4 on Legendary (among many things I have done in the game).

The game does remember what I’ve completed in the “Save” section (for example, I did two Halo 4 missions on Legendary and beaten the par score on Dawn and the game does show that and it gave me the achievement for the par score).
Also, in Score Attack it sometimes shows 0 points for kills of multi-kills, like it’s not connected to the servers.

I have contacted Xbox support about the matter and we have tried numerous steps to resolve it.
Here they are in chronological order:

1.Uninstalled the game, logged out of my Xbox, power cycled the console and reinstalled the game (Yes, downloading 68 gigs all over again, yaay)
2. A factory reset of the console with retaining game and app data. So just the OS reset. Logged back in, started the game and that was the first time I saw the “Synching data for Halo: The Master Chief Collection” message in like 5 months. It got up to 45% sync and just froze for 10 seconds, then opened the game menu like business as usual. The problems were still there.
3. I came up with the bright idea of deleting my saved game data from the console, because all of the saves are actually kept in the Xbox cloud anyway. It did force a resync again, but it got up to 45% again and just started the game in its broken state.
4. I did the “Delete saved game data” process a few times and came to the conclusion that the Cloud data is corrupt.

I have had numerous talks and troubleshooting sessions with a plethora of Xbox support employees, yet the problem still persists.

I have asked them to delete or reset my MCC saved game progress on the cloud and have confirmed (multiple times) that I am more than happy to replay and re-earn all my progress all over again, as long as the game works properly.

The best solution they could offer me is to contact 343 Support directly.

Now, please, you guys tell me how do I do that?

Will I seriously get zero answers?
For real?

Nobidy knows anything about my problem?

You can delete the save both from the local Xbox and cloud yourself. You can do this by going to the same menu you deleted the local save last time, but this time select delete both from xbox and cloud option. For your information, you won’t lose your achievements, rank or unlocked content as thats linked to your profile. If your still haveing problems try deleteing your xbox account from your xbox and re-download it by login back into your account. This should solve any problems with your profile and save. Hope this information is of help. :slightly_smiling_face:

There is no way to delete cloud saves using the Xbox One anymore.
It used to be possible, but one of the patches removed that option.

P.S. Maybe I missed noticing the option. I will check again when I get home from work.

Tried it.

Didn’t work.

Still the same problem. Nameplates won’t open, achievements are non existent.

That’s disappointing.

Did you also try profile deletion and re-download your profile by login with your details.

You can do this by,

  • Going to Settings, - Account, - Remove Accounts - Select the account you wish to remove and press A. - Re-download profile by signing back into Xbox live with your login in details. Also Have a check as well to make sure your Xbox has current update and is not in the middle of downloading one. You can check this by going to settings, console update and click check status. If one is available download it. “Updates in progress can sometimes affect console behaviour”.

Also. What do you mean nameplate won’t open. Do you mean you can access the menu or you can’t apply them? They are locked by default you have to unlock them by doing in game activities. “Achievements non existent” really sounds like a profile problem.

Hope this information is of help.

I’ve deleted the saves, then deleted my profile from the Xbox.
Then I logged in again.

Didn’t help.

When I deleted the saves, it deleted my progress from the game. All content was 0% completed.
Like, Halo 4 Legendary was not completed. All games on Heroic were not completed.
However, when I closed the game and later opened it again, all campaign and playlist progress was back.

What I meant by “Nameplates won’t open” was:

  1. I go into Player ID. It loads for 30 seconds.
  2. I choose Nameplates, it starts loading. The only way I can get it to load is by going to my Xbox Profile, picking Achievements and then MCC.
I wait for a whole minute for it to open. I shows 125/0 Achievements. Then I click on that, wait a while (it never opens), then switch back to MCC and it finally loads.
However, now that I have deleted my saves on the cloud and the console, it shows that I have zero nameplates unlocked. Even though I completed the Halo: CE legendary campaign this weekend, it didn’t give me the nameplate for that achievement.

And even before I deleted the saves, I did not get any nameplate for finishing all campaigns on Heroic, as well as Halo 4 on Legendary.

Also, when I go and look at my achievements in-game it just loads for a while, then says “Could not load data from the servers. Try connecting to Xbox Live and try again”.

And before you ask, I have high speed, optic 100/100, internet and a fully OPEN NAT. So my connection should not be a problem.

I’m looking at your profile and it says you have not played MCC.

Can you play a game of matchmaking and complete it to see if the servers pick it up.

Everything is linked to your profile, the only thing you lose by deleting saves is last checkpoints and forged maps. Saved Files don’t hold nameplate information, rank, progress etc. The server and your profile does.

What I think has happed is that you have played MCC unlocked some stuff and its has not synced with the servers for some weird reason.

Now that you have deleted everything and started fresh by pulling the information from the servers you are only going to get what information is on there.

In this case, the Halo servers say that you have not played MCC or unlocked any content therefore the fresh profile you downloaded will reflect this.

So the information your are giving saying 0% progress etc. is correct and in sync with the servers which also says 0%.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to update the servers other than play the game and unlock the content. Now that your profile is in sync your progress should be reflected on the halo waypoint site as well.

As for menu delays, this is common occurrence on MCC. Especially when the game is first loading from a cold boot. Best advice for this is sign in before launching the game, press start button when asked and wait and few minuets for all the menus to load. Unfortunately Nothing much you can do about this as well. The Master Chief Collection has many problems and bugs which need to be addressed by 343 which probably won’t happen.

I’m sorry you have had this happen to you.

When I look at my own profile on Xbox I see the same thing.
All other games show me my progress, but the MCC says I have 0 gamerscore and 0 achievements.
But we both know that’s bollocks, don’t we

I can go into matchmaking when I get home from work in a hour and try to see what it says.

If the Halo servers say I haven’t played any MCC, how did it return my campaign progress then? And why does it not sync any new progress I make, but gives me the achievement (like when I completed Halo: CE on legendary last night, I got the achievement, but not the Nameplate for that same thing).

How can it say I have some 130/0 achievements?

Because your profile tracks the information even though the sever has not updated. I’m looking at your profile now, it says 73% completed. With all your status. Did the above solve your issue?

No.

I talked to Xbox support (again) yesterday and they said it’s a Halo server issue and that it’s been reported to 343 already multiple times.
They claim that they can only wait for 343 to respond and solve it.

We had a nice chat, as usual, but the issue remains.

Which game is 73% completed? MCC? Where are you seeing this information?
I still see 0 gamerscore and 0 achievements on Xbox live’s web page for my profile and MCC.

Btw, when I try to open the MCC achievements using my Xbox app on the phone, it just freezes then crashes the app.

Seeing as all my progress is visible here on Halo waypoint, but isn’t on my Xbox profile, I can assume that the Xbox profile does not receive the correct info from the Halo servers.

EDIT: I finally managed to see my achievements anywhere through my Xbox profile. It was on the Xbox phone app. I waited for the app to unfreeze and after 2 minutes I finally saw them in the app. It was slow and loaded slowly, but it’s the first sign of life for me in months
As of now, only on the Xbox phone app.
