Economy questions

So does anyone have correct information how does economy work. Seems like when u have too many harvesters or reactors the income drops and 3rd or even 4th base are not even worth it. So how does this actually work? Also many people seem to but reactor in mini base is there some reason for this? For me it feels like it’s just easy expensive target and i can’t see any reason to put reactor in mini base or does it give more income there than in main base?

its not worth getting a third base because the way the makers of the game developed this game, you could have 5 supply pads and make just as much money as someone with 10 supply pads because the diminishing returns is terrible.

No idea yet. Game is still to new for me to test this stuff out, but wouldn’t mind knowing this information if someone figures it out.

This would be very handy to know, maybe I have been doing it wrong have my second base be mainly resource making

I believe there is a cap to how fast you can get supplies. Or like previously mentioned there may be diminishing returns so your first heavy supply pad may give you 300 supplies per minute (no clue of actual number, just example) but your 5th heavy supply pad may only give you 100 or 150 per minute.

Someone either here or on the Reddit already did the math and found out that there are diminishing returns on supplies but not on Energy.

SUPPLY PAD
Production: 2.7 Supply per second

HEAVY SUPPLY PAD
Production: 4.3 Supply per second

GENERATOR
Production: Three Power per second

ADVANCED GENERATOR
Production: Six Power per second

*Same goes for the UNSC’s counterpart (The Banished)
*Powernodes give you roughly two power per second (Tested on custom match but could be slightly incorrect)
-1 Powernode almost equals a generator

Does anyone know if there are diminishing returns in Halo Wars 2 like there was in Halo Wars 1 (maybe like a percentage)? The following is how the economy of Halo Wars 1 worked. I reference this to use as an example. This is from the Prima guide for Halo Wars 1.

Supply Pads have diminishing returns; the more you build, the less proficient they all become:

  • Going from one to two Supply Pads increases supplies per second by 82 percent. For example, if one Supply Pad gives you 10 points per second, two Supply Pads would give you 18.2 points per second. - Going from two to five Supply Pads doubles your supplies per second. For example, if two Supply Pads give you 18.2 points per second, five Supply Pads would give you 36.4 points per second. - Going from five to ten Supply Pads increases supplies per second by 50 percent. For example, if five Supply Pads give you 36.4 points per second, 10 Supply Pads would give you 72.8 points per second.TIP
<p data-fragment-id=“base-construction-tactics:p::8”>For a normal battle, between five and seven Supply Pads is the optimal number for a return on your investment.
<ul data-fragment-id=“base-construction-tactics:u:liclass:ypadsli”> - UNSC Heavy Supply Pads (a Supply Pad upgrade), or Covenant Blessed Warehouses (a Warehouse upgrade) are 40 percent more proficient than normal Supply Pads. For example, if a Supply Pad gives you 10 points per second, a Heavy Supply Pad gives you 14.<ul data-fragment-id=“base-construction-tactics:u:liclass:ypadsli”> - The output of Heavy Supply Pads relative to regular Supply Pads is as follows and reflects diminishing returns:Two Heavy Supply Pads are the same as three regular Supply Pads.Three Heavy Supply Pads are the same as five regular Supply Pads.Five Heavy Supply Pads are the same as nine regular Supply Pads.Seven Heavy Supply Pads are the same as fourteen regular Supply Pads.

TIP

  • The break-even point for upgrading to Heavy Supply Pads happens at around seven Supply Pads; after that, Heavy Supply Pads are more profitable.

My apologizes for the data fragments XD.

This need to be changed to get real 1v1 scene. Player who controls map should not gain penalty from it. Either let more bases generate also more resources or make bases deplete at some point to force 2 base turtle to actually do something.
