So I’ve been trying to play Halo for the past few days here, and the game runs just fine without anticheat enabled, but when I enable it to play online with the boys, i get a launch error that reads “Invalid game executable: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Mutable\Microsoft.Chelan_1.2094.0.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\MCC\Binaries\Win64\MCC-Win64-Shipping-WinStore.exe.”
I cannot for the life of me figure out what is going on, I’ve tried reinstalling EasyAntiCheat, reinstalling C++, sfc /scannow, nothing.

I had the same problem and resolved it by uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Took some time to redownload but at least it works now.

Yeah, managed to fix it too with the help of a friend, apparently reinstalling EasyAntiCheat for the fourth time fixed it.
Actually don’t bother with any of the suggestions above. Load up the Easy Anti-Cheat off executable (for mods and cheats), exit the game, then click on the Easy Anti-Cheat version and then it will load. Must be a glitch of some kind.

Yeah been fighting with this for a week and agreed launch the Easy Anti-Cheat off executable (for mods and cheats), exit the game, then click on the regular version worked for me. Don’t know how many times I have tried re-installing the game which is a another pain.
Came here after the latest gaming services update giving me this error (I’m guessing since it was the last thing to update ) and by launching the anti cheat mod version and immediately closing it ( after it hung for a few seconds) then launching the regular normal version it worked.

Cause after my reinstall last night for this error the game was working fine and I played for hours, turned off my computer and went to bed and then work today, now I got home this evening and the same error is back. At least this way I didn’t have to reinstall the game, just as you said I launched the anti-cheat disabled version, quit out as soon as I got to the main menu, launched the regular version and it loaded up just fine!

It baffles me why stuff like this keeps happening. I know myself already installed the games 3 times for one error or the other and it is not just me. Anyways thanks for the tip, saved me from reinstalling again.
UPDATE: After restarting the computer, I get this error again.

I just had the same error today “invalid game executable”, I did this and it fixed it.

Is there a long term fix for this. I have to star without easy cheat then quit after every reboot now.

This morning I played and had to do this then just now my first game back I didn’t get this error ( restarted my pc and everything first ) it just loaded normally. My first and only match the Squad chat channel was the only channel available I wasn’t able to switch channels but another player was able to talk in all chat and he chose to call a person who wasn’t even in the match “dog meat”
Just wanted to pop in state I as of today began having the issue as well and it seemingly came out of no where.
The above mentioned work around of launching the game with anti-cheat off for mods then exiting and restarting the game with Anti Cheat enabled worked. Seeing how many others of us have suddenly run into the issue it must be some sort of recent update problem to the game itself or a backend windows update??

Who said anything about manipulation to anything? I simply suggested not to do this because there is an underlying issue with the game as the normal expected start up is just to launch the game and not display an error.
My games text chat is not working I am stuck on SQUAD chat currently after doing this ‘fix’ this morning and when I came back this evening it was broken. I didn’t get this anti cheat error when I went to play this evening. What I think is happening is the game is launching and the regular version is expecting something and its like hey this is broken don’t launch. Then this ‘fix’ shares the same folders or something similar to the regular version and when you launch the anti cheat version then close, it writes a file to the regular version and then allows it to launch. I suspect this because I get another error popup message stating something about writing error and file something. I’ll see if I can get a screenshot.
Feel free to play if you’d like again I was just suggesting based on my recent experiences that it would be best to not play.
EDIT: getting a pop up when launching the anti cheat asking me to install a new trusted certificate Ihave closed this and won’t be trying to get a screenshot. How I produced the error was when it as launching press ctrl alt del as soon as the splashscreen goes away.
