During many times of the day, US East Coast players are getting really high pings. It would be one thing if we were matched up with other regional players getting high pings but for example, I’m often matched up with guys from Texas (where MS has a server). I’ve made it a habit to ask people where they are from when I’m feeling high ping at the times I play between 10pm and 2am during the week, most of them are from Texas or Florida. I’m not sure who I was matched up with recently today but it was even worse than normal. I know buddies on my friends list from New York and Pittsburgh have experienced similar latency. This often leads to people asking “have they nerfed the pistol?”
In a game that’s highly skill based and competitive like Halo, there needs to be an option to play people in their region. Give us the option to choose between matchmaking times and region locking.
