I’ve seen it all in Halo online matchmaking from Halo 2, to Halo 3, to now. Whoever is in charge right now is doing a laughable and horrendous job. The ever popular Squad Slayer was not never added to replace Super Slayer, which I wonder why still exists like many, as it is one of the least popular playlists. Removing Action Sack, for no apparent reason as well also caused an uproar as a good portion of the community enjoyed this playlist.
Another strike to the current “playlist manager” was removing everything but Anniversary Squad or whatever it is now (I was only online today on Reach for a few minutes before I ventured to more important things) in the Anniversary playlist. Pretty much everyone who has bought a mappack, or any mappack for that matter, has been given the middle finger from 343i. So what, we have to go into Big Team Battle now and cross our fingers hoping that every one of the 16 players matched has purchases the CEA maps? Give me a break. No other Halo incorporated its DLC maps as poorly as this. In fact, other Halos made their maps free to download after a while, but not Reach for some reason.
Shiska wouldn’t have done any of this, nor would Jeremiah. I actually wish Bungie were still in charge.
There is some serious mismanagement happening in my opinion too. In all fairness though, MS might be placing 343 in a position where they have no choice.
I agree with what you are saying, iKreutz. Why the hell would you even get rid of a playlist? There’s no reason to! I loved playing Firefight Doubles with a friend, but now that is gone too, so now I have to go find 2 other people or face the 50/50 chance of finding a couple of idiots in matchmaking to play firefight. Also, Action Sack was my favorite playlist D: And I love playing FFA on the Anniversary Playlists. You had better not **** up the playlists in Halo 4 too!

So did I. But I’m not mad because I still get to play them on customs and MM, just not as much. I mean honestly, who would want to play the same maps over and over again?
> > > You’re getting mad over nothing kid. It’s just a tiny aspect of a massive game. Get over it and move on.

When you buy something under the pretense that it will be available, then they are removed while a playlist like Super Slayer remains, kinda a slap in the face.
Will I survive the loss? Sure, but it seems very unwise from a customers service standpoint. When Halo 4 comes out, Im going to have this in the back of my mind. If I buy this, will it be available for my enjoyment, or will 343 pull it?
I feel your pain, Limited was the only thing redeemable about Firefight. Though I laugh because I remember all these people falling down and smooching 343’s butt when they finally took the reigns from Bungie and how great they are and how much everyone loves them while Bungie was a pariah for bloom and armor lock and they suck, blah, blah.
How can anyone really care what this community has to say beyond duhhhh ?

Sooo…The community is mad that they will no longer get to access a variety of maps to play in matchmaking…and…your argument is …That…?
We don’t want to play the same maps over and over…that’s why we pay money to play new ones…and then we are kinda screwed over when companies do stuff like this…
In the last 2 days I’ve kept a tally.
I’ve played 27 games of big team.
Of those 27 games, there was 96 game options.
Of those 96 game options, there was 4 noble map pack options.
Of those 4, 2 got chosen and both were BTBheavies ( breakout and typhoon)
Of those 96 options, there was 0 defiant map pack options.
( In other words, Highlands…my personal favorite map)
Of those 96 options, there was 3 anniversary map pack options.
Of those 3, 1 got picked.
In that game ( 2 flag CTF Ridgeline) a total of 11 people got booted/left throughout the course of the game. I didn’t enjoy myself.
So…out of 27 games i got to play DLC content 3 times.
2 of the 3 were heavies ( which I hate, and i wish they would remove from BTB)
and the other 1 everyone quit.

Halo 3 is the only Halo games with free DLC, Heroic which has NO achievements linked to it, and Cold Storage, which has no achievements linked to it.
Legendary, both Mythic Map Packs, all the Halo Wars DLCs all cost and have achievements linked to them, meaning they can never be free, same goes for Noble, Defiant & Anniversary, they have achievements linked so they can never be free.
Actually maps became free near the end of Halo 2. You may have not been around since then, but I have been. Halo 2 didn’t have a gamerscore so the maps didn’t have achievements on them.
Either way, it’s pointless to defend 343i at all at this point. They took away Squad DLC, Anniversary playlists, Action Sack, and other stuff in Firefight. Every other Halo offered a place to play new maps, but not Reach. This game will has already cemented itself as the very worst Halo experience, and by a wide margin.

What?
The Halo 2 maps were made free because they could, they didn’t have any achievements linked to them because Halo 2 itself didn’t have achievements.
They need to follow the model Halo 3 had with their Heroic map pack so that everyone can get it for free eventually. I couldn’t imagine Halo 3 without Standoff, Rat’s Nest, and Foundry.
