I just reached level 100 in the Battle Pass, and there’s still 4 and a half months left in the season. There’s really no incentive to complete challenges at this point, except for the weekly ultimate reward but that’s usually just a single mediocre emblem.
I think we should get challenge swaps, XP boosts, and maybe even Credits to spend in the store for every level past 100. I’m sure some people will make the argument that getting no rewards after level 100 will reduce the number of players prioritizing challenges (i.e. camping near weapon spawns) over actually playing the game, but that’s a problem with the challenge system.
I just made a thread about this same thing almost. Prepare to get flamed. Apparently we don’t deserve anything because either we have no life or we spend money ¯_(ツ)_/¯
That’s why I want an Account Levelsystem Like in MCC with Prestige etc.
It’s just boring to grind only the Battlepass.
Double kills etc are irrelevant, no ranklevel system, Double kill medails can give me xp for my Account level and the challenges only battlepass. Something Like that.
It would give people more to look forward to while they wait for Forge and other additions which aren’t going to be here for a few seasons.
I was thinking this as well.
If someone is playing that often or buying XP boosts, and they’ve bought the Battle Pass, credits might be a good way to thank them.
Yeah, the challenge system needs an overhaul to make it less frequent (so people focus on the game more often) and more rewarding, and the XP system needs some adjustments and additions as well.
I tired to bring this up when people were complaining about how “slowly” they were leveling up before all the challenge updates and I got shot down. People got so booged down in the short term level ups they never looked at how long the seasons are.
Which brings me back to play the game because it’s fun (hopefully) and not for a drip feed of dopamine rewards. Remember when games did not give you crap for anything? Those were good times.
So you mean the leader board at the end of every match?
The point I keep trying to make is we have become so conditioned to “rewards” for minimal work that it is now a requirement for enjoyment regardless of how participatory or trite the reward is. Yes it can be fun to grind for certain things I get it, but things like the battle pass is nothing more than an addictive feedback loop. People who lose interest because there is no more “reward” have either lost focus on what is important or without a “reward” the game play comes up shallow.
I get that I don’t have the prevailing opinion here and that is fine. I just want to see more people take a moment and think about it.
Me? “trolling” was not nor has it ever been my intention. I am sympathetic to your post and merely brought up the fact that the season is stupid long and there is no need to rush through it and to just enjoy the game.
More like the Ranked list, but that’s filled with cheaters apparently.
I understand your point, and I think it’s a good one, but this game is very repetitive.
There’s really not much to do, and there won’t be much else until season 3, though I guess that’s part of your point.
The game absolutely needs a MCC type progression system with rewards and a very robust Commendation system to keep players interested and playing. If you finish the Battlepass there really is minimal reason to play with no progression or Commendation rewards to chase.
This will slowly become more of a problem in the coming weeks and months. With the changes to progression significantly increasing the rate of xp gain, more and more players will be missing those shiney and sparkly unlocks.
There were a few of us cautioning of this eventuality, but we were drowned out by the cries of “MOOOOOARRRRR!!!”
I don’t think this needs to be resolved right away (you are certainly in the top 1-2%), but I hope 343 is considering ways to keep players coming back often after so many have maxed the pass. I don’t think the fracture events is enough (a week long event about once a month?).
I’m sure they thought about this and the statistics probably show that they’d lose money.
I do like the idea, like halo reach’s credit system when credits were earned by playing.
I think people would just play and not pay making micro transactions a desperation act for when someone didn’t feel like playing as much as they needed to get what they want to unlock.
So you impatiently rushed through to the end of the Battle Pass even though you knew the season was extended by several months and was going to last almost 6 months. Now you want them to give you more rewards because you have little to no patience or impulse control?
That’s gonna be a hard no from me. Your current issue of feeling unrewarded is entirely of your own making. Guess you’ll just have to — gasp — play the game for the fun of it!
