This was the one thing that popped out to me as well.
Maybe we’ll earn the Battle Pass cost back but in the form of Credits. Which would be really nice!
It would mean the Battle Passes would pay for themselves as long as you buy one, complete it fully AND don’t spend the total accumulated Credits on something else before the next Season/Battle Pass releases.
If they could sneak a few extra ways to earn Credits like weekly ultimates or special events/promotions, that would be even more awesome, but at least what they are doing is a step in the right direction.

With this system in place, we can all move along through the battlepass at our own pace which is very refreshing.
I would rather XP boosts and challenge swaps be earned by completing challenges rather than tier unlocks in the battlepass.
There is too many XP/Challenge swaps in the BP, in Season 2 I would like to see more content or coatings in their place.
My point being: There is no point levelling up if you are not unlocking anything. You don’t want to unlock XP boosts to level up to unlock more XP boosts…
But this credit system is a great idea. I cannot wait to see what the new Season 2: Battle-Pass has to offer!

They say it’s included in the battlepass, but I wonder if we’re limited to earning only a limited amount per season. Ideally some recurring challenges will award them, so that once you’ve completed your battlepass you have something to pursue.

This is a good question, because if certain Challenges or Events give lots of Credits, players will grind hard for that.

I’m currently at that road block, love the game but I’ve been at level 100 for a few weeks now, the challenges are great but the rewards are recurring and have no real incentive to finish if you already have the weekly reward.
I’m crossing my fingers and hoping the credit system is not an exhausting grind but a welcome one.

A bit odd and slightly worrysome how it specifically says “in Season 2’s Battle Pass” instead of just season 2 in general.
Hope its earneable to everyone and not just for people that buys the battle pass.

I’m going to assume a player has to purchase the Battle Pass to get earnable Credits, but it isn’t impossible to make earnable credits for all players, they’d just have to look at numbers. We’ll just have to wait and see what they say later.

That’s a good catch, that most likely confirms that the existing Season 1 battlepass items will not be able to be earned by credits and will only apply to season 2 onwards.
But I really don’t think it’s a viable option from a business stand point to make all the Armor unlocks free on a free game, 343 wouldn’t have anyone buy the BP in that case.
Hopefully they can find a direction that works for everyone.

There are 4 paragraphs of information (plus the opening and closing paragraphs) in their post. As I said, they posted what you quoted from a Tweet, and more in their post.
I hope it’s great, but 343 also needed a month+ of “data” to realize they should remove BTB challenges…. So my level of confidence isn’t very high

The first paragraph mentions The Shop and store bundles.
The second is about BTB.
The third briefly comments on the future credit system but doesn’t elaborate.
and the fourth refers back to the ongoing effort fix BTB.
I did read the post, I understand the topic exists but I posted to share with others on their thoughts, nothing more.
To be completely fair BTB is not unplayable.
Yes but you only mentioned one bit, that was in that Tweet. As you note, there was other information in that post.
Would have been better to link to the post rather than copy the text from Twitter. That way people could reply to that thread so the author gets notifications.

The fact they are finally removing the challenges I think proves btb is a little “unplayable”

I think that’s the same thing. It’s only the Premium Battle Pass you have to buy, the regular one is free (at least it was in season 1)

Yeah if I had to bet, any earnable credits from the battle pass will be in the premium one only. Allows for the non premium one to have more blue armor shaders
