SOOO, i got my halo 5 early release today and put in all the codes yet it will not allow me to play until the 27th as the game is supposed to be released does anyone else have this problem? If i could get some feedback as to why this is from some people that would be great thank you
I think that early release for physical copies essentially means you may install the game from disc and that is it. Digital copies may be downloaded before the release date.
In neither case, as far as I know, are you able to play the game before the release date.

You didn’t get the game early. Only select people get review copies on disc and play with those immediately.
All you got was a digital pre-order, assuming you got the Limited Console.
The purpose of the early release for LCEs and Console Bundles is to get the digital games downloaded EARLY, including the Day 1 patch that is coming Oct.22.
It was never meant to be early release. It is so that you can download everything now, and when the game is unlocked in your region, you just start playing the game without waiting on the game.

So I’ve pre ordered the regular version in my Xbox one. It’s never given me an option to download it. Do I not get to download it early?

Check your games file size, if it’s 46.2GB you’re good to go, all you’ll need is todays 9GB update.
If you folks log into Twitch there are people playing Halo 5 right now on Early release, so there’s definitely some truth in this,

I don’t know for certain, but these are likely to be people in one of two categories:

they received officially sanctioned review copies that are not date/time dependant.
-
they have digital or physical copies, have disconnected from the internet to play and record game play and then uploaded that video when they have finished.
There is no official Early Release (as in pre-launch play release) for Halo 5, except for those in category 1 above.

So now have to wait until Tuesday.

If you start it without an Ethernet cord so you can’t connect to Xbox live you’ll be able to play single player.

My retail version came in the post this morning. Lots of people have received their retail purchase early from various online retailers. That includes general public like myself…

Set your Xbox to offline so you can play the campaign, because that’s all you can do at the moment.

I’ll wait till Tuesday as I will miss a lot of achievements,plus I have ODST to finish and replay H2 as 2 levels have not registered after I completed the game.

That doesn’t mean you’re supposed to be able to play it. Retail versions, especially from online, often get sent out early for a variety of reasons and/or mistakes. But the game officially releases on October 27th, and that is when the servers and other functions will be unlocked.
