Yeah - you know the post from the 6th, where it said “early next week” - its been edited… And now they say they are “still on track” for the content update “this week”… As if we dont remember what we were initially told…
Thats seriously messed up 343.
I’ve played like two matches in the past 3 weeks - I’m over this. LYING and REMOVING TEXT from prior posts to COVER UP your inadequacies - this has literally gone to far. You have everyone standing up for you, the whole fanbase hoping you get this together - and we have to watch you cover -Yoink- up??
An apology stating you dont have it ready and it will be ready by the end of the week would have been sufficient - not the shiesty ish you just pulled almost ensures I’m done and will fight for my refund…
They have not lied or removed any text from that post, perhaps you just misread it. Here is a link to Bing’s cache from the 7th of January so you can compare text (google’s cache already updated). Just in case Bing updates soon, here’s the full screen grab. No cover up here sorry.

I understand what youre saying and showing me with the Bing cache… But look at all the instances online via twitter, fb, reddit, ect where plenty of people talked about the CU release for “early next week…”
We all didnt mistakenly read it - we were expecting an update when they informed us of the update for this week… Anyone who cares read they said “early next week…” the night the post was made on Jan 6th… I specifically remember my frustration over it but thought to myself at least it will be Sunday or Monday…
Now, I know a lot of people copy and paste the posts on the updates and start there own threads or add it to others - so I looked through a bunch - and it doesnt say “early next week…” in any of them…
So you’re right - forum people are not developers - but they certainly are not like US if they would help in the cover up…

Why do these threads come up every single week?!? 343 says a patch will come out next week and people lose their -Yoink- when it’s Monday or Tuesday morning and they don’t have it! Is this really the biggest problem in your life? Man alive…
343 doesn’t release the patch. MS does. MS certs it. It’s not 343’s fault if MS isn’t at their beck and call. Give these guys a break. It’s not the first patch they’ve released and it won’t be the last.
Someone tell me: Is there nothing better to do then wait for the next shred of news for your emotions to hang on? The game shouldn’t have released the way that it was; got it, that was 2.5 months ago. It’s a moot conversation. If the game is causing you this much grief, just rid yourself of it.

I don’t know why people are so anxious to get the next patch…it isn’t like it will fix everything (if anything) and is most likely going to fix one thing and break 100 others. Looking at the (relative) HUGE amount of space MCC patch updates are taking up on my hard drive, I’m getting the impression 343 has no idea what they are doing and just throwing patches at the wall and seeing what sticks.

the point is - Ive been on their side through everything - I just dont like the fact that they told us one thing and then when it wasnt going to work - they edited what they originally posted…
Then when through the forum and removed all instances of the “early next week” comment…

Back when this content update was first announced, I and a few others speculated (and hoped) that out would drop early in the week, as had been the case for the other updates. It seems they have either taken a bit more time with this one or it took longer going through certification, or it could be a myriad of other things. The point is, they never lied. Please stop spreading fud, I already addressed that point earlier.
@lXI Alpha IXl - patches don’t add to the size of your install, so downloading a 1 gig patch won’t remove 1 gig of usable space, it will be a lot less than that. Patches change and replace content, sometimes removing while functions and adding in new ones. The day one patch was different as it wasn’t really a patch, you were downloading the additional multi player engines that wouldn’t fit on the disk. Bug fixing ain’t easy and I’ve been doing it for more than ten years

You cache is from the 7th - we read it on the 6th - nice fn try… SHILL! Is it not entirely possible it was changed on the 7th??.. Not that hundreds of people added words to what they read on the 6th??
No one would have cared about what YOUR speculation was - we fn read it - they edited it.
I don’t and have never worked for 343, so I appreciate if you didn’t call me a shill. If you have proof that 343 edited their post, other than your own words, I would be interested to see it and I will gladly redact my post. Until then, all you are doing is spreading fud. I actually did a little more digging - I took a section of the update text and googled it t see what other sources picked up (feel free to try it yourself):

Now have a look at the gaming sites that picked the news up in this handy dandy bing search (or google if you prefer) and what they have been passing out to the community - exactly what is written here. Now here is one from the 6th of January, the same day the announcement was posted. Can we call this thread done now please?
