Early Halo 5 campaign image I found

I found this image to be fairly interesting, considering Halo 5’s current state. And judging by the achievement concept art, something entirely sinister seemed to occur behind the scenes with Microsoft.

P.S. In case anyone is wondering, I found this on LNG’s video and was really intrigued by it, which led to some further investigation. Currently working on an essay to address these controversies.

Halo 5 had so much potential I can tell but a combination of Microsoft rushing them and poor organization at 343 led to what we have today

That’s clearly a concept using a scene from Halo 4 (the crash site at the beginning of the second mission), maybe to give an idea of what the Artemis might resemble. Still, it’s neat!

I don’t think that’s real, but that’s just me.

Don’t get me wrong, I want that to be real, but that dosn’t feel real to me.

That picture actually looked really good. If 343/Microsoft had already developed something like this in this detail, then why would they scrap it?

There’s plenty more of early images that possibly suggest otherwise, such as this, this, or this.

These are only early concepts from early builds. The first image from the first OP’s post is only an edited image. Nothing in-game.

Look at late night gaming for what halo 5 would have been.

Wait, so do you mean to tell me…
we could have gotten the game that the Hunt the Truth ads led us to believe we were getting?!

Also, how have I never seen these before?! Seriously, this would’ve made me so much madder about Halo 5’s Campaign than I already am!

People here on waypoint avoid h4 like the plague. You “could” post a ton of halo 4 stuff and alter it for some h5 bs and people here will believe you.

But yes that is absolutely the first interaction the player gets on the second mission of H4 with the remains of Forward Unto Dawn wrecked on the surrounding area with some wrecked covenant phantoms and cruisers.

The concept art does leave me wondering where and why they decided to make the changes/compromises they did, as others have pointed out that’s Halo 4.

  1. Alpha build of the revive system. They had a sprint video going over their many cosmetic versions of it.
  2. The pre-beta menu screen that players in November had.
  3. Developer view showcasing Midship when that map was being hyped. Of course around this time the game was still in alpha, my guess would be a month or 2 before the beta.

Are they all real, yep. Do they change h5 in any way?
-other than the beta graphics … Not really. Now if you posted the cut UI that was post-beta then sure your argument would be much stronger.

Wildly different concept art is hardly something new… It’s conceptual, not a blue print. Every game out there has concept art and mock-ups that are very different from the final product.

As for that much darker Midship, people complained about how dark (too dark) certain maps were…

You can also look at LateNightGaming for things without proof, because he gives none.

There are actually other leaks and early concepts for the menus. The one that really interested me and made me want to believe the things that late night was talking about was one that said “…and Halsy’s true plans are revealed” and of course that led almost every one to believe that Halsey was indeed going to be the main antagonist.

Heres a link to halo canon’s video discussing that leaked image

I was largely alluding to the darker tone and atmosphere, which may have been ties with the “darkest Halo yet” 343 promised.

That’s just Halo 4’s second mission starting area with a custom HUD superimposed on it.

Yea I knew it looked like Halo 4!

Not all knowledge requires superficial evidence. I believe what LNG says because, to be frank, most things point to it being true, and it overall makes sense. I’ll trust my intuition in this case.

Isn’t LNG a known bullshitter though? I mean I could take a dump in a box and tell you its a special box with gold in it but that you could never open it to verify it - would you then blindly accept you have a box of gold? Of course not, you’d open it to check and then be utterly disgusted that someone pooped in a box and gave you it.

Anyways - late but just to add my voice, that’s clearly an H4 mock up.
