I was sad to see HW2 fail to be shown in the Microsoft press conference, what a great opportunity to spotlight the upcoming expansion.
I honestly know the main reason it was not shown, as some executive would of had the final say, based on sales and ruled it out. I feel this was short sighted as halo fans are genuinely interested in the Halo story, the blur cinematic would of had all halo fans interested, regardless if they liked or disliked HW2. You can’t help, but be drawn into that they’re amazing.
Even though I expected the new dlc to be free, I completely understand why they have done it.
I’ll explain why, the original idea would of been to release the first dlc for free and then the second DLC for $20, but as growing interest diminished, they were forced to reverse the order and put the paid dlc now, so they would see a greater return on investment.
Personally I’m excited for the new DLC, yes playing as flood would of been great, but it still looks like good fun regardless. + 2 new leaders great!
2 new maps coming? yes, excited, but only 2??? Honestly, the bare minimum is normally 3 as a pack. I understand they are free and I’m glad to see them, but lets be real, we would of loved to see at least 3 maps.
No mention of observer mode, is this really a hard thing to do??? I really wouldn’t think so, this of course is all about money and a feature that benefits the community and not the company. Some times though you cant put a $ on “good will” this is where companies like blizzard, go the extra mile and it pays dividends, good luck ever trying to say something negative about blizzard, without tons of backlash. In saying this, I do feel like 343 & CA have tried to improve the game. The patches have been making the game more enjoyable, of course there is a ton that needs to be changed and most of the top players know exactly what that is and we are getting there.
So to sum it up, mixed emotions, but overall I’m excited about the new content and future patches.
