So as you guys know E3 kicks off tomorrow with the Microsoft Press Conference. The actual E3 doesn’t start until Tuesday but Microsoft’s Press Conference will be tomorrow. So are you guys ready? What are you guys expecting to see? Hoping to see? How much do you guys think we will see? I’m hoping for an epic trailer, and though it’s doubtful seeing how there’s still a year until it comes out, I’d like to see some gameplay. Multiplayer maybe? But I think we’ll see some of the Halo projects by Ridley Scott and Steven Speilberg.
Spielberg’s show hasn’t started filming, so we’ll see none of that. I expect we’ll start hearing casting news in the coming months, though.
Ridley Scott’s digital feature began production around a month ago. It’s possible we’ll see a teaser, but expect nothing major. If not now, I’m sure we’ll get a teaser for it at Comic Con.
Halo 5 is WAAAAAY too early in development for us to see actual gameplay. At best we’ll see some pretty tech demo, though I even doubt that. It’s much more likely we’ll get another CGI trailer, and there’s the possibility we’ll get nothing at all about Halo 5 because the 2014 Halo game will be their focus.
Halo’s 2014 release will definitely get shown off, probably with some serious gameplay. The most likely thing would be Halo 2 Anniversery, and I assume they’ll announce that it comes with a Halo 5 beta key and the Ridley Scott feature but that’s just speculation.
Please show a tech demo, valve-style… PLEASE!
Show me what happens when a body falls into water.
Show me what happens when a warthog drives passed a reflective surface.
Show me the real-time lighting with the Sun changing position.
Show me the animation for characters swapping their guns and pulling out grenades!
Come on, 343!

What we really need to see is how fish will react when a player swims near them.
Screw gameplay, screw story, show me next-gen FISH AI!

On second thought, I’m expecting the following to be shown tomorrow:
- Full-blown teaser for H5G
- Announcement + gameplay of the Halo 2014 project
- Casting announcements and more details on the TV Series
- Trailer for the Ridley Scott production.
I’m hoping to get a confirmation and first look at Halo 2 Anniversary. That’s my highest priority. I’m mildly curious about Halo 5, and I don’t really care about anything else.

I think I get your reference, if it’s one at all.
If that’s the case, then I hope we get dogs.
I’m hoping to see a Halo game that I can play this year on Xbox One.
For some reason, despite it totally going against history and previous events, I’m expecting gameplay for Halo 5 this year. I think Microsoft need to get fans hyped with more than gameplay of a Halo remake or another CG trailer. Especially if Uncharted 4 is at Sony’s conference.
The current performance of the XB1 is underwhelming for Microsoft, so hopefully we see something out of their desperation. Games been in development for 2 years, even the opening level would be nice to see.

You might be on to something there…

LOLOLOL. That was too funny, man. That made me laugh.

LOL.
I’m just saying… I don’t expect gameplay, I don’t care about story, and pre-rendered trailers do absolutely nothing for me.
Their engine is done, so show THAT off at least.
Show us what XB1 is capable of, and what technology we can expect in Halo 5!

Or they haven’t announced that it’s started filming. Considering it was announced a year ago, I’d be surprised if they aren’t already filming, or at very least - are very late in the writing process.

You realize Halo 5 has been in development for close to 2 years. Of course, since they’re writing a new engine, I agree that they’re probably not deep enough into development to want to show gameplay.

Expecting them to start filming over a year before the show launches is a bit of a stretch. As far as I know about filming for TV shows, you generally don’t start the filming process until less than a year until it launches due to how actors will, in fact, grow older over time.
Could be wrong though.
However, if they were in the filming stage, I think that they would have announced that during the same time that they announced that the Ridley Scott production was in the filming stage.

Even if gameplay was ready, knowing 343i’s starvation tactics in terms of marketing, I don’t think that they’d reveal gameplay when there’s over a year until the launch of the game.
I’m expecting at least a couple Halo trailers (one of gameplay)
And gameplay of what’s coming this year
Expecting Halo news and it better not screw up like last year. Oh god their E3 last year was terrible. -_-
I know very little about film making, I was just guessing - and pointing out that we don’t actually know that it hasn’t started filming. I guess it’s a fair assumption.
And yeah I agree we’re probably not seeing gameplay. It’d be cool if we did, but it’s not gonna happen I know that. TBH I’m more excited for whatever little story details/teasers we get.

Halo 3:odst and halo reach were announced at the same press conference in 2009, I believe. Because of that, I fully expect to see some h5 content on top of whatever else they’re announcing (343i never said it was a game being released this year, did they?)
Edit: remember the 2012 e3 reveal for h4? Gameplay, well before the release of h4…

…but the game came out like 3 months later.
Halo 5 is probably a late 2015 release.
