E3 Should they show campaign or keep it secret

I asked this question on a topic already, but I will put it out here now. Do you think 343 Industries should show us a campaign gameplay like they did with Halo 4? Or should they only reveal whatever parts of the story they were planning to reveal via the viral marketing campaign? And keep the rest a secret until launch day until people actually get a hold of the game?

I’m not sure…I mean on one hand I really want to know what the campaign will be like but at the same time I want to be surprised and blown away when I actually play it

They can show campaign gameplay without giving anything away.

Show us maybe a part of the first or second level, not the full thing, and please for the love of the game do not show off any new enemies. The prometheans would have been a cool surprise if we knew nothing about them. Before the game came out, we knew every single promethean class.

They pretty much have to show campaign and reveal elements of the story. E3 has the world’s gaming press following a barrage of footage and information on future games. Halo 5 can’t really afford to give a mild presentation that shows nothing new if it wants to stand out from the competition. This is the point of time where you show the general audience: “When you buy Halo 5: Guardians, this is what you’re going to get.”

I don’t think it’s too much of a problem though. Halo 4 presentation was ~7 minutes long. After that I remember reading numerous speculations about Halo 4s story. Something about the story climax being when Chief saves Infinity and they escape from Requiem. Compare that to what we actually got and I think we’re pretty safe.

Halo 5 also seems to be longer and more complex than Halo 4 (thanks to two playable characters), so there shouldn’t be too many problems in showing a few minutes from a campaign that lasts several hours.

If all else fails, info blackout is always your final safe haven.

Show. Show everything. Make my mouth water. Feed the hype. Make people want to play more.

Keep it a secret. It would suck, also, if they build up Halo 5, but end it with a cliffhanger

I think they will and should but they aren’t going to show anything super late in the game, probably level 1 - 4. I’m sure they have many surprises with it’s story so we should be fine. I also imagine it’s only going to stick with what we already know. Colonies get attacked, Didact or some other force is returning, MC is AWOL, Locke is searching for him, and then they might show off Arbiter or Sanghelios as well as some interesting gameplay mechanic or vehicle.

I’d like them to do a short trailer (maybe 1-2 minutes) for the campaign that blends some cinematic and gameplay, but doesn’t really reveal anything. The rest should focus on showing off the large multiplayer types; with emphasis on how the Spartan Abilities mix with vehicle play, types of vehicles, and types of weapons.

itll prob showcase 4 player co-op and the split campaign

I would like a demonstration, not a playthrough. Have an area that thematically represents halo 5, show some initial interaction between the characters on the teams, and present a conflict that is subtle in what it is, such as the bird rising in the other trailer: it wasn’t hidden or necessarily subtle, but we still have no idea what it was. Show a battle with the storm and the player so we can see how SA’s have affected the campaign gameplay. Show a some vehicle gameplay maybe, hopefully we see it get fuelrodded more than once so we can expect to have actual fun vehicle combat for once in a while( -Yoink- tissue vehicles ). Show some music, and there you go. ideally 7 minutes of campaign with no spoilers but an insight into what to expect.

They’ll show gameplay of the campaign. Afterwards they should do it like the Halo 4 presentation. The trailer that shows the campaign but ends with the Didact saying something. Like another forerunner glyph that comes along with some quote.

They will undoubtedly show some gameplay footage to build hype. Remember this is the 1st 100% original halo for the Xbox 1 so graphically it should look even better than halo 2 A.
this is there chance to show us and hype their product.

They shouldn’t show us much.
Gameplay and some environments, maybe tell us a little about what’s going on and then that would be that.

Keep it secret. Keep it safe.

There’s certainly a balance to strike between showing something and showing nothing.

Halo 2 had a pretty awesome E3 showing. Granted, it was all scrapped, but it showed some excellent gameplay in an early area of the game that revealed the obvious about the story: we’re fighting the Covenant on Earth.

Halo: Reach went too far. Spoiling SPACE BATTLES was mean. They should have stopped at arriving at the launch pad, but not show us board the ship.

Let us see the weapons, how the old enemies look (if there are new enemies, don’t show us), and give us an idea where we start in the game, likely some colony world. Then, after a little gameplay, drop a hot and schmexy trailer on us.

Show the campaign, but don’t reveal any vital plot points. Halo 4 made the mistake of revealing too much about the Prometheans.
A glimpse might have been fine, but they practically showed all of their forms as well as what they’re capable of. It wasn’t surprising or suspenseful like it was when the Flood were introduced Halo: CE.

They’ll show what the investors want them to show.

After all, the show’s for them.

I really want them to show some campaign footage, even if it’s just to say “the campaign is real and here’s where we are with it”

I have mixed emotions on this. I want to see more but at the same time I want to be surprised. 6 eggs in one hand, half dozen in the other, ohhh what shall I choose lol
