I went back and looked at the Halo Infinite E3 2018 reveal, which was the game engine demo. It looked so much better than what we saw today. Are those game engine demos done on maxed out PC’s with like 2080 RXT TI Titan GPU’s? Link to the reveal below:
It looks like what was showed today was on a different game engine, I’m confused as to what is going on. Any clarity would be helpful if there’s something I missed?
Engine demo is not the same thing as a full game running in real time on final hardware. Anything “in-engine” rather than “in-game” should always be taken with a grain of salt. The in-engine shots can be carefully choreographed for maximum fidelity without having to worry about what frame rate it is being rendered at, or what happens if the camera suddenly turns 180 degrees, or if there’s an explosion at an inconvenient moment.
