Halo Infinite is confirmed to have a full Day and Night Time cycle which is awesome, I can’t wait to play the game at night and I wonder if night vision would be a thing again. I’ll even take the trusty flashlight again.
I expect the game to have different weather in certain regions, that’s probably more likely, but do you guys think Dynamic weather could be a thing. Would it even be possible with all they are already trying to achieve in this Open world game?
Wouldn’t surprise me if it wasn’t in the game honestly. We will probably just get fog at times and maybe a certain area of the map that snows. Feel like if they had it, they would of talked about it already.
what do people think about MP maps including different times of day and weather? I think it would be a good way to make the same map feel new each time you played. It could also change the map control, for example, if its rainy it could make controlling the sniper rifle less effective.
No I don’t think it will, at least not at launch. Day/Night cycles maybe, but this is supposed to run on the One and if they haven’t figured out the popping at this stage on the Series X, dynamic weather is not going to work on the One, and they need to offer the same experience across all platforms. That seems like something that will be released in a later update, when they know they can cut the One from the lineup.
Not impossible, but I strongly doubt it. Not to mention that it still has a linear story-line and mission selection - even with the classic four difficulties selection! So my guess is that there will be a lot of different weather conditions, maybe even on the same map, but those will be bound to the mission to not mess up the cut-scenes. Hope to be wrong like always, but sadly I nailed to way too many negative aspects of the game already. Maybe I should shut up!

Where did they confirm that the flashlight would be in Infinite?

HEAV3NLY DEMON did not say they confirmed the flaslight will be in Halo Infinite, they just wondered if night vision would be a thing again, and added they would take the trusty flashlight again.
Where were dynamic day and night cycles confirmed? Last time I checked it was just speculation based on what appears to be a sun set happening slowly during the demo. Never saw it being confirmed though…
As for dynamic weather. I guess it would be nice but I don’t know if it should impact gameplay. Like, I don’t necessarily want the Hog to drive more slippery (CE like) because we just had some rain and mud as a result. It isn’t a Forza game where weather impacts gameplay naturally. I know Gears did this thing with storms and all that but I don’t really want Halo to include weather acting as another passive enemy to consider. But sure some rain at times doesn’t hurt and can create some awesome set pieces.

I first heard about it being confirmed on YouTube vid, in some interview. If you look up Halo Infinite full day and night cycles, you’ll see it was confirmed by Chris Lee in an Interview

heres the confirmation about the day and night cycles as he does state it will start after few hours into the campaign. Link to IGN article also in agreement with you on the weather i imagine unless there are set pieces in the campaign i doubt we will be seeing much change of weather on the ring.

Since it’s scifi, one could argue with weather generating tech etc. Forerunners know their stuff
Games have been doing dynamic weather in tandem with day/night cycles for nearly 2 decades now. Not exactly a new mechanic nor should it be hard to implement.
So I don’t see any reason for a game that will be the main selling point of a new gen console not to have dynamic weather when it has day/night cycle. Definitely when games from 360 era and even earlier were doing it…

Definitely.
I can appreciate the graphics at this scale have limitations… but there is no excuse for not upping the ante in regards to dynamic weather conditions / physics / structure damage etc. It’s about time MS actually leveraged some this cloud processing they’ve been talking about for such a long time.
