Dynamic Map Elements (Returning?)

Halo 2 anniversary actually did something that spiced up the gameplay and i though it was fun. That feature was called Dynamic map elements. My question is if dynamic map elements are returning to halo 5.

I thought they added some more depth to maps and was actually fun.

H2A Dynamic Map elements:

  • The stalactites on lockout
  • Ascensions shield by switch
  • Shrines waterfall switches
  • Bloodlines EMP

H4 Dynamic map Elements:

  • Vertigo had a switch that shocked players

I really hope h5 adds more of these to the mix. I like having other elements that add more depth to match besides just the basic gameplay. Do you think they will return?

Halo 5 has dynamic map elements.

This guy. We’ve seen three examples so far:

  1. The cover piece in the outside area of Eden; if you shoot it in a specific area, it sinks to the ground.
  2. The protective shields on the top-mid of Truth; if you shoot them, they collapse for a while before forming up again.
  3. The platforms on Fathom; you can shoot certain platforms and make them descend.

  1. the platform on the map ‘The Rig’ that holds the active camo, can be shot to drop the camo on the platform below

Also the recent gam play video from campaign showed breakable objects such as rock walls.

That’s a thing?! That reminds me of shooting the Active Camo on Rat Race in H:CE to make it fall down to me. :’)

i guess im referring more to map elements that actually hurt people instead of shooting a platform that falls. I forgot about the few in the beta but i like ones that cause a visual effect like a waterfall or one that actually hurts you.

I don’t think we’ll see any that will deal actual damage, but it’s not crazy to believe that we’ll see dynamic elements similar to the EMPs on Bloodline and to the waterfalls on Shrine.
