Dying in Halo 2 Co-op on Legendary Checkpoint

This is an issue I’ve experienced playing with a friend of mine on the same Xbox One console. We played Halo 2 campaign on legendary with no skulls turned on and whenever one of us dies during the gameplay, it resets back to the last checkpoint as if the iron skull is turned on (iron skull resets all the way to the beginning in single-player and resets back to the last checkpoint in co-op). Does anybody else have the same problem? I’m sure we all have this problem and I’d really appreciate 343 fixing this, because Halo 2 is my favourite and I’d love to play it normally on co-op with my best friends.

Actually, if you play any other Halos (Halo CE, Halo 3, Halo 4, and Halo Guardians) on legendary, the invisible iron skull isn’t on. I’ve played Halo 2 on Xbox original on co-op legendary and I’ve never had this problem.

I can assure that that the original Halo 2 co-op always worked like this, other games may differ but Halo 2 legendary co-op acted like Iron was enabled.
