I want to know…who doesn’t want to die in a puddle of water like in Halo 3, and Reach?
Would you want to create maps that fully plays underwater, without the death penalty of drowning (unless too low)?
I know I do, but Vote above!

You see, there are these things called kill barriers, have you heard of them?

Yah I have, but we gotta have some depth in which we are able to fully play underwater. Sure you were able to fully submerge players underwater, but it didn’t keep players from staying underwater…
gameplay wise, they’re kill barriers.
canon wise, Spartans can’t live underwater forever; only for 90 minutes…
I know a guy that made an Invasion map, and the second phase was all underwater. very cool. out of the map of course.
I think there should be an area where you can have underwater maps though.
There was a part in Halo 3 where you could walk around in a lake completely submerged. It was when those Pelicans get shot down by banshees in the first level. I fell in one day, thought “Aw, crap, I’m gonna die”, but turns out it was set up so you could walk around and stuff. I even punched a school of fish to death.
It was all murky, though. If the visor automatically adjusts so you can see underwater, it’d be cool to have underwater sections.
All this talk about underwater gameplay makes me miss the good old days… wandering around the ocean in The Great Journey and the lake in Delta Halo…
Personally their should be bariers. but spartans are in “environment suits” so to speak that keep them alive in outer space for a limited time. So, yeah, i think as us players, we should be able to go under water for a limitted amount of time without dieing
As far as MM is concerned no but as a option in customs I don’t see why not

You do realize that in Reach, you could be completely underwater in some areas of forge world, just as long as you didn’t jump, the kill barriers are placed 7 or 8 feet under the water, as long as you place a floor, you could be able to play around in the water.
Well there has never before been an aquatic spartan, but with the new spartan IVs and the new armor and armor system they use who knows. But on the other hand the armor wieghs 1000 pounds so, idk maybe the armor wieght is different and we will see swimming spartans. But u should need to come up for air unless u have like an air pack like in halo reach when u went into space.
Spartan’s never die, they just drown.
If you glitch out of the kill barriers in Forge World, you can play/live/forge under deep water. Just saying…
Underwater gameplay is always, without fail, the most terrible thing in gaming.
I would really enjoy the ability to survive underwater in Halo 4. However, not in matchmaking. I believe it should be purely for forge/custom games to create fun infection maps, and even some Slayer maps in which there is a river going through the middle and you are able to go under to reach the enemy base / rush their base from where they cannont see you. And if the idea is put into Halo 4, I hope that being underwater is playable, because in Halo: Reach, your entire screen went blue when under; more transperancy to see outside of the water would be much better.
One thing that should be fixed is the inability for AI to operate underwater. They can’t fire their guns and they can’t shoot at anything underwater. On the other hand, I exploited this in H3 and Reach by using water as my fallback point.

This would be pretty sweet, IMO.
I wana go swimmin’.
One thing I want is better graphics underwater. It’s just blue, and the same color blue as your HUD. There’s no textures or anything.
Well seeing as how the laws of physics doesn’t allow bullets to travel through water, underwater combat may resort to fisticuffs. So, unless you want to have underwater boxing, which probably isn’t possible either, then we probably won’t be seeing underwater gameplay.
If this teaspoon of water exists within a kill-zone, of course I will die.
However dying in water is not something that happens a lot in Halo, just usually in Halo MP (you can take a bath in the water on many parts of Forge World, why so hyberbolic?")
