dying animations, the armor and spartan iv's

So I was in a discussion with a buddy online about the “ragdoll” dying animations and the physics when melee killing or headshots.

They dont add up.

In previous games we were all MC skinned players with scripted death animations and sounds.

In keeping with the lore (and real physics) 2 Spartans with 800 pound armor should not be able to fling one another across a map with a melee, it just isnt possible.
I know this has to do with math/coding in the games background but it has always been around and is funny to watch.

Similar effects with headshots/killing shots, most of the time the bodies fall limp in the air or fall straight down. However i have noticed that sometimes bodies get flipped/flung several yards when killed.

Now Spartan IV’s are a little different.

They are normal humans with Mjolnir armor. (as cortana states “not true spartans” “soldiers playing dress up”)

this is true. Osiris team requires the back up support in the armor to even move around because their bodies cannot hold the weight.

The neural interface in the systems allows the armor to “move on its own” by reacting to the nerve impulses when moving arms/legs.

So when they go down into “revive mode” the armor systems shut down and they are grounded from the weight of the armor and the timer is the last remaining juice until the armor collapses and crushes their bodies. The “revive” is just a rebooting of the systems so the armor can move with the neural interface.

So the sounds we hear when dying (crunching squishing) are possible just the armor crushing our bodies rather than dying from a melee.
the exception being headshots and splatters/promethean weapons.

Blue Team and the Revive

Why is this a thing for them? They are Spartan II’s with the augmented bodies to be faster and stronger. Continuity is broken here because of previous games not showing any indication out side of things that would cause death (headshots, splatters, stuck nades)

I have gotten to the point where i just play “classic halo” and anytime i go down i just resume last checkpoint instead of waiting on a revive because it takes me out of the immersive qualities of the game and leads to more frustration with the crappy team AI.

I hope 343 implements a way to turn that off in campaign.

I apologize for the rushed post, i know there are errors and incoherent thoughts but hey i cant make every post a college level presentation.

Both 2’s and 4’s are augmented to wear the power armor I think it just goes into lock mode like it did in the begining of H3, I doubt it crushes them.

I thought the revive mode was a sort of armor lock, it’s taken damage so it just locks you down to be secure.

There is a skull wich has this effect.

The S-IV might fall to their knees due to the weight of the armor, and the S-II can resist the weight of it, but it’s there for gameplay reasons.

halo 3 introduced it tbh

i dont remember reading that IV’s were augmented because they would have to start the procedure while the body was young and still growing. it resulted in death for spartan I’s because they died during the procedure as adults

The Spartan IV’s have a lot less augmentations than the Spartan II’s, but they do need augmentation to wear the suits.

Read New Blood and Initiation, they are able to fully augment adults by now even grow them to be tall. They are super soldiers after all that includes super strength and reflexes. Geez you could of googled all of this before making a thread lol.

Blue Team locks up, system needs a reboot. Osiris Team loses power, system needs a reboot. It’s certainly canon for these things to happen, but the REASONS they happen are different.

People always say this but IV’s actually have more, all organs and joints get replaced.

Halo initiation and Halo New blood both have proof that IVs are augmented.
