Duel wielding in halo 5 can be easily implemented for example you have an smg and see another it will say “Y to duel wield” (depends on control setup)
2 possibilities regarding ADS or Spartan Smart Scope
1: It’s disabled while duel-wielding.
or
2:You can still normally use ADS and Same button to fire (except fires both guns)
Regarding damage issues: If implemented I’m sure 343i can come up with a way to balance the damage proportions
Alot of Halo fans wanted this in reach and 4 and were disappointed.

Also I do believe that 343 should not change the default beta controls because I am a fan of them. or if changed at least include them but as “default (beta)” or something.
I also come to ask If there will be a preorder bonus for preordering from best buy. And if best buy does have a bonus will it even out the gamestop bonus?

I’d like to see dual-wielding make a comeback. It was fun in Halo 2 and 3, I bet 343 could make a decent dual-wielding system for Guardians if they wanted to.

I agree. The smg in Halo 2 is basically a rapid fire bb gun with massive spread. The Halo 5 smg is pretty powerful as it is, so it would be OP if it had dual wielding.
The sandbox isn’t designed properly for it, unfortunately.
That’s kind of why I didn’t want the SMG having a scope, because I knew that it would be turned into a generic single wield weapon. Unless they do it H2A style like they did with the ODST SMG, I don’t seem them adding duel wielding.
No. As much as it was fun to duel wield, I had negative ramifications for sandbox balance and altered gameplay for the worst. Duel wield weapons were usually bad on their own and slightly too powerful when together. Was even more apparent in Halo 3 when the weapons had only 75% strength when paired up (except for the plasma pistol). This was one of the reasons that Auto’s were very underpowered.
The only reason I would want it to return is so we could have more weapons return also like the Mauler, Red/blue plasma rifles etc. Other then that my duel wielding days ares out grown I guess.
It’s a feature I rarely ever used in Halo 2 and 3. I only ever used it when I wanted to goof around with some smg’s or needlers. Anyway I’m just gonna vote no.
I’d rather not have it return. A lot of the weapons in H2 and H3 had to be watered down because of the dual-wield mechanic, essentially making them useless by themselves. It just hurts the sandbox IMO. H2 SMG starts anyone?
Duel Wielding was worthless, it did nothing but cause weapons to be vastly underpowered and outmatched by a BR. I didn’t use it in Halo 2 or 3, and I wouldn’t now.
Dual wield was aesthetically cool, but mechanically disastrous. I would not want 343i to waste the time trying to make it work, instead of making the sandbox work with individual weapons instead.
There were a lot of people complaining that the SMG was overpowered, so I think they should make it so that the SMG is always dual-wielded except in Breakout.
I can’t see this coming to MP. It’s too wonky for my taste. When it was introduced in H2 it was something new, but as of now it would really just be for nostalgia sake.
