Anyone else think their should be a toggle for dual wielding in customs that would allow you to dual wield every weapon. goldeneye 64 had it so why not lol.
Dual Wielding is a tricky subject especially in regards to weapon balance. The biggest issue with it was how it effectively forced Bungie to make weapons like the Plasma Pistol and Plasma Rifle useless on their own. They became half guns and needed to be paired with another weapon in order to be effective.
Dual Wield Weapons
-cannot pick up or drop just one weapon
-cannot mix different weapons
-weapon sets are permanently bound together
-reduced weapon switch speed*
-melee, grenade throw, and deploy equipment are disabled while both weapons are equipped*
-can holster and equip the left hand weapon using the Weapon Modifier button*
-if one weapon has a full magazine and the other has a partially spent magazine then reloading causes just the one weapon to reload, leaving the other weapon available to fire*
-if both weapon’s magazines are partially spent then reloading causes both weapons to simultaneously reload, leaving neither weapon available to fire*
- – does not apply to Hard Light Daggers
SMGs
-hitscan
-minor base bloom
-moderate maximum bloom while firing one weapon
-major maximum bloom while firing both weapons
Needlers
-slow projectile speed
-projectiles track enemy infantry if fired during red reticle
-individual projectiles deal little damage but remain stuck in the target for a short period after impact
-once a specific amount of projectiles have become simultaneously lodged in a target they supercombine in a high damage explosion
Spikers
-medium projectile speed
-minor vertical recoil when firing one weapon
-moderate vertical recoil when firing both weapons
-moderate projectile drop over distance
-momentary reduction in target’s movement speed on impact
Hard Light Daggers
-user holds a one hit kill dagger in each hand
-user can lunge at proximate enemies with either dagger
-lunging with one dagger resets the lunge cooldown period on the other dagger so, if the user alternates daggers, he can lunge from one proximate enemy to the next
-enemies quickly disintegrate on impact
-daggers are mounted to the user’s backhand, allowing him to throw grenades with both daggers equipped unlike any other dual wield weapon
I just hope it’s in H5 period.

Not necessarily. I mean, the Plasma Rifle and Pistol weren’t the best, but I could hold my own with them. Just pair them with a melee and you’re good. And the SMG could really deal a lot of damage alone.
I think dual wield could really work in Halo 5. I hope they throw it in there.
this is why halo 2 and 3 are unbalanced.
I really do not care for Dual-Wielding.
He did say that this would be for CG, guys. I would love to dual wield Swords, again.

That’s still an issue. A lot of weapons were made pretty much useless in Halo 3 and Halo 2 to encourage people to dual wield them. Just look at the Plasma Rifle or Spiker, on their own - pretty useless, combine them together though? Very powerful.
Dual wielding breaks the sandbox and would ruin weapons used in Matchmaking, even if they were only intended for custom game use.
I would like to see weapons that are specifically picked up ONLY in pairs. Give duel wielded SMGs the same damage as the SAW, but the penalty is that you don’t have access to grenades till you switch out weapons.
It would help balance out the flexibility of the SAW by limiting your versatility in other ways.
Dual wielding is a great idea for 5, because with possibly new weapons, means more combinations.
actually, i’d do a lot to get them back & wouldn’t give a -Yoink- about the sandbox.
well, as long as dual-wielding is at least campaign only.
probably a lot of work, yes…but i’d just love to dual-wield again two magnums
or two plasma pistols or mix 'em up, just for the sake of “badass-ness”.
Yes, please. I Love DW.
