Dual WIelding

I want dual wielding back!!! why not? what’s wrong with it?

I’d like it back, and I think the solution to balancing them is simple.

The competitive crowd has often expressed their dislike of dual wielding weapons due to balancing issues, and while I like the feature I’ll agree that they can cause problems in this regard. Many have suggested that they add the ability to turn off dual wielding, and keep it off in competitive playlists. The problem many have brought up is that this could cause some confusion. I think the solution is far more simple than that.

We already have weapons that fill the same roles, things like the AR and SMG, or the Storm Rifle and Plasma Rifle. All they need to do is keep those weapons but restrict their presence. Let’s use The Pit as an example. Have two versions of the maps available. One has SMGs, the other replaces all of them with ARs. This way, no one will come into the game and expect to pick up to of any of the weapons on the map, as they will be replaced with non-dual wieldable equivalents. The only potential problem with this idea is pistols.

If you have paid attention to some of the newer gameplay demo from Ready Up Live on Youtube, the killtimes in the game have gotten shorter. The SMG absolutely wrecks people up close, and just about all other weapons that were displayed have had trimmed the timer down a lot.

It’s not needed. Having both in would be a hard balancing act to perform to keep people from dying at CoD levels.

I think they could just add an option to add/remove dual wielding in customs, and introduce a non-dual wielding playlist for online multiplayer XD

well, maybe they will nerf a little bit smg, it looks too deadly XD and dual wielding is so cool that I need it :stuck_out_tongue:

People have suggested this time and time again and many have retorted by saying that the gameplay should be consistent across all standard modes and playlists.

Can you explain how?

Could they reduce accuracy and not allow smart scope while dual wielding. That will make it better only up close.

I think that just because there are some players who doesn’t like dw XD

I would really like them to bring it back, just so that I can go totally boss out on the Covenant with dual SMGs or Plasma Rifles. Some people say that they took it out to balance the weapons/gameplay but seriously? In matchmaking it gives next to no advantages when evened out by melee speed, and in a fast paced game, it is useless to waste time grabbing a dual weapon when you cannot throw a grenade while in dual form.

Yes! I would love my duel wielding… But that’s ok, as long as my smg wrecks

Just add it in customs. Nobody ever really used it in matchmaking, at least no to an extent where it was effective.

But the very problem with creating playlists where it’s off for all weapons, including things like SMGs, is it creates a completely different experience and is likely to confuse players switching between playlists or modes. However, if you take those playlists and simply replace dual wieldable weapons with their non-dual wieldable counterparts you avoid that confusion. No one will run over to an SMG lying on the ground and expect to carry two of them because they won’t be there.

I’d love to have it back. Unfortunately I’m guessing it won’t be and it looks like it doesn’t quite fit anyway with the way they’re making Halo 5.
