From what I have been reading, it sounds like Halo 4 won’t have dual wielding. I just want to know why? Here is a list of Pros/Cons that I can think of for having dual wielding.
Pros:
- Gives another play style to the game.
- Makes useless guns useful. (In Halo Reach you can see that previous dual wield-able weapons (excluding pistol) are hardly ever used, because they can’t even beat a long range weapon (DMR) at close range, which makes no sense.
Cons?:
- Too strong? (I don’t understand how this could be too strong, when its only use is at close range)
- Takes away from the BR’s glory? (Such a big deal has been made about the Battle Rifle’s return, and if dual wielding was added it could add some competition against the BR at close range (which is bad I guess?))
- Can’t throw grenades? (If you want to be able to throw grenades, then just don’t dual wield, it’s that simple)
- Interferes with armor abilities? (This is the only legitimate reason that I can think of for not adding dual wielding, but I don’t know if this is true)
- More work?
Please tell us WHY!?!
Perhaps not enough buttons for them? Couldn’t you reload one at a time with two seperate buttons?
With sprint + AA’s may not be enough…
Adding dual wielding makes it harder to balance out all the weapons in Halo’s sandbox. It is not coming back. I say good riddance, dual wielding turned the magnum into a horrible weapon in Halo 2/3.

Nope.
Reach weapons show us that you don’t need dual wielding to screw up a weapon. Plasma repeater, plasma launcher, AR, etc. In other words, they merely needed a buff and that is what H4 will be doing.
Cons:
-
Very difficult to balance without screwing up the sandbox.
-
Dual wielding was more advantageous for the enemy than it was for the player. Except dual wielded needlers. Those were the one thing that could be relied on but the needler lost a lot of things because of that and was never fully/properly restored.
Also, look at what Bungie did with dual wielding Elites in Reach. Can’t be assassinated if they’re aware. What a joke. Why can’t we just have a bunch of fuel rod gun wielding Elites while we’re at it?
Pro’s:
-Looks badass
Con’s:
-Requires the base weapon to be nerfed as dual-wielding an already good weapon would be hella-overpowered.
What Reach showed us is that Bungie forgot to beef up the former dual-wield weapons after they removed the feature.

You’re doing it wrong. PP > DMR at close range, here is how it is supposed to be done:
Pew, pew, pew, SMACK, crouch x3, run away.
