Hello everyone.
I was playing Halo 2 and I think dual wield too cool. If 343i will bring back the dual wield system, maybe we could carry two swords in each hand. It will bring more fast action than one handed.
But at the same time, I would be worried about the balance in Multiplayer and Campaign. They could reduce more battery per-kill to not be so overpowered.
What you guys think?
it might work.
just want to put it out there, project contingency will let you dual wield everything so that will be possible in contingency
I don’t think it’d be useful. The sword is already a 1 hit kill unless someone has an overshield. The only way I could see it working is if maybe you could strike 2 targets standing close together.
Dual wielding swords would be pretty sweet. Would make for an epic screenshot too!

Rule of cool.

i imagine one sword would be used to block a sword lunge then using the other to attack right after you deflect it meaning 2 swords beat 1 in a fight. that and stacking the speed boost you get with the sword. it might also be used to kinda “lunge travel” through a horde of enemies. say for example there’s a small team of players in front of you, the first lunge brings you into one guy and the second sword lunges you into the next before the lunge timer on the first sword cools down which basically just means you can wipe out more players in a shorter amount of time as long as they are within a certain range of each other.

Dual wield Swords can/could grant:
- 20 hits rather than the usual 10.
- More animations of lunge and melee attacks.
- Faster ways to attack (even more if Ravening Sliver makes a return).
- Simply more epic moments.
- Oh, and let’s not forget the REQ variants being used between each other. Vorpal Talon and Prophet’s Bane= OP Swordsman.
I’d like to see that tried in campaign, not multiplayer.
Oh, forgot to mention:
- More epic battles.
- More assassination variants.
I’d like the handheld energy shield that appeared in Halo 1 trailers.

So making a sword user even more OP. Sounds great. /s

And give the Gravity Hammer a true match. Yes.

Maybe in Grifball, but the hammer isn’t a problem in other playlists where it needs a counter weapon specifically made for it and then you’ll most likely also have maps that won’t have both weapons on them.
The Energy Sword is a powerful weapon and very fun as it is. They’d have to nerf it to make it duel-wieldable. The negatives of having duel-wieldable swords would outweigh the positives in my opinion.

Warzone gives you the capacity of spawning any weapon you want. Also Fiesta Slayer gives you random weapons.
Imagine this:
You are playing Warzone, spawn an Energy Sword (Vorpal Talon, for longer range and agility) then run and kill every enemy you see, until you eventually face a dude with a Gravity Hammer.
As everyone here knows, the Hammer overpowers the Sword since Halo Reach, therefore if you clash your sword against his hammer, you’re dead.
Now let’s dual wield energy swords and have two Vorpal Talons for double the power. The best thing that could happen is, both players die because of the clash (hammer blocks one sword, but not the other), similar to Halo 3. Although it could also be possible for a second clash to occur.
Even if there are no clashes at all, two swords can get faster than a Hammer and finally kill the hammer user. This can be done with a single sword, but things can get interesting with two.
In the lore, an actual fight or clash against the two would result on:
- The hammer is destroyed by the sword.
- The sword user dies instantly because of the hammer’s shockwave.
This would be fun. Lol.
